Does anybody even want that final CL place anymore? For the sake of discussion, let's just assume Chelsea and City will be the top 2, although the latter has looked pretty shakey so far. Let's also assume Arsenal finish 3rd, even though apart from half a match against City and a 10min span against Villa, they've looked quite poor.
That leaves one spot for us, Liverpool, Everton, and Spurs to contest for, and right now none of those teams look even remotely impressive. Neither of us have more wins than losses so far, and are hovering midtable within 2 points of each other. Basically all 4 teams are a mess right now
It's actually shocking to think we could be leading the pack by next week, as it feels like we're miles behind contesting for the top 4
So 5 games in who does everyone think will claim that last spot as their own? I think we still have the most potential to improve out of any team in the league, but whichever team gets their act together quicker is going to have a huge advantage
The "race" for fourth

Must be a little confusing for Arsenal fans and their pursuit for CL football.
They always get there but virtually every season all they do is finish runners up in the group then get knocked out in the first knock-out round. Surely that isn't why fans want their team to be in the CL, just for the money, play some random average European teams then get knocked out as soon as they play someone good.
It's not as if Arsenal fans are seeing all the CL money they are getting being spend on players of helping them out financially on tickets.

Some truth to that comment. But it's hardly a corker one would pick out. Strange. Maybe you are really a monkey.

God I read 3 old comments on this thread by Winston and now Im commenting myself! (must be a character flaw)
I then noticed his name continue like ever decreasing circles down the thread. But my will to live saved me at this point and I saved myself. Winston pedantically making his point until there is no one left standing.

I am sure this is the most open yet in terms of top 4 battle.

You look at the strength in depth of the smaller teams. I won't be suprised if a low points tally like in 10-11 season wins the title this season.

People compare me to Got_Better when he writes articles like this when Sturridge is not even in the squad.I would have been suprised if a player who was injured a week ago with no training was gonna player in a fierce merseyside derby.

Clearly not after North London and Merseyside derby end in draws. Will Southampton be suprise package. Reckon they will do well this season as there finances are very good so in January if right players come in they can strengthen and they were a strong team last season= 6 or 7 players won't change this style of play.

Did I assign any 'corker' rating to the comment? Just thought the point being made was succinctly put.
Which is why I liked it.
Are you a bit 'punchy'?
Strange.
Maybe you are really a pugilist....
