A bit Heath Robinson, but here we go...
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino will make a host of changes to the side that lost to West Brom at White Hart Lane on Sunday. Michel Vorm may make his debut in goal, while Roberto Soldado is expected to start up front.
Nottingham Forest manager Stuart Pearce will be without captain Chris Cohen, Jack Hobbs, Jack Hunt and Andy Reid.
Striker Matty Fryatt is still troubled by a pelvic injury and will not feature.
MATCH PREVIEW
The League Cup pedigree of these two sides is long and storied - they have lifted the trophy eight times between them. But it is in the FA Cup that Tottenham and Nottingham Forest shared their most famous meeting.
“It will be a special occasion because we had some fantastic games against them over the years" said Stuart Pearce, Nottingham Forest manager
Des Walker's own goal in the 1991 final gave Spurs victory and left Brian Clough with the only hole in his glittering CV.
To mark the 10th anniversary of his passing, Forest fans in the away end at White Hart Lane will be clad in replicas of his famous green round neck jumper in a touching gesture to their legendary manager, who was in charge for all four of their League Cup successes. On the field, Clough would have been proud of the job his former left-back Stuart Pearce, who scored in that 1991 FA Cup final, has been doing as manager and they sit top of the Championship having gone undefeated this season.
With the distractions of a North London derby looming on Saturday, Forest will fancy their chances of an upset against a Tottenham side who produced a wretched display on Sunday against West Brom.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino looks like he is in for a tough season trying to coax the best out of a squad that appears short of pace and a long way from mounting a challenge to break into the top four.
This thread is open to both sides, and will henceforth be known as 'The Friendly Thread'

Spurs struggled against Forest
----------------------------------------
Remember we put out a VERY weak team, having rested pretty much all of our most impressive performers this year. This p'd me off a bit - would have liked to have progressed, which I think we would have if we'd have sent out our best team. Hey ho, onwards and upwards, concentrate on the league blah blah blah ..
