I barely recognise us at the moment, the moment being about 12 months (which is a lifetime in football). Our attacking ability in the final third is tragic. Long range shots and a striker that can never get to the ball. I just see this being an absolute repeat of last season. We didnt buy any players that added anything to the team. We missed out on a ST and AM. To think we were linked with Griezmann, Depay, Rodriguez, Bony, Welbeck, Schneidlin and we bought Stromboli and Fazio.
Our defence looks poor constantly, MoPo has made Jan part of the second team ?? Bought a LB that can't make the first team ?? and bought an Argentine that couldnt make the third team!! Before you start thinking that Im jumping on a premature bandwagon. Ive been thinking that it'd be a similar season to last since we lost to Liverpool and failed to do enough business. I do not believe this is a managers problem (unless he controlled all the buying and selling) Baldini and Levy have to take blame. We havent committed enough cash to compete with any the other top 6 and believe we'll be around mid table come May
In my eyes we have wasted the best part of 120 Million, there isnt a player except potential in Lamela that is proved anything, which is Baldini's fault is that is the job of a DOF. And to have a Net spend of 10 mill in the green (which is great business dont get me wrong) but to be left with the squad we've got is Levys fault
I just hope MoPo can get the best out of these players and the Chairman releases cash in a near window to buy the better quality players we need

Honestly we should have just kept Siggy. Better than Paulinho.

Nah, he was never properly given a chance in a number 10 position with us. Always seemed to be played on the left wing, but still managed a few goals there.
I felt he was worth keeping over the likes of Paulinho and Lennon before he went.

Spurtle, like i said in the ratings thread. Lamela did more in 10 mins than what Lennon and Townsend have been trying to do for years. 5 assists already this season and has not really been that sensational yet is an excellent stat and more can be said for the likes of Lennon and Townsend who continue to disappoint time and time again. Lennon works hard I give him that and Townsend tries to make things happen and is a positive player in that sense but both no where near good enough to lead our attack as inverted wingers. They offer nothing of any sort in attack with Townsend only being slightly better than Lennon.

You only say that because he is scoring goals at Swansea babe
He was given plenty of opportunities here and blew hot and cold too much. He's in his element there because he's their main man, their number 10.

I've been singing for Siggy for years. Since Bale went good and he looked to link up with him whenever possible.. he's a clever player with great technique, things you can't teach.
I agree we never saw the best of him, and he wouldn't make everything better, but I like the way he plays. Definitely better than Paulinho.

Neither Siggy or Paulinho are good enough thats a bit like saying Titus Bramble is better than Tomas Repka they were both crap as well.
I wont criticise MP to much at the moment but the system he likes to play and the players we have I just cant see where the goals are going to come from.

Maybe Grand but we're not Real Madrid, we're lucky if we get a world class player let alone a squad of them. Siggy never complained even though he was in and out of the team and rarely played in his best position.
Paulinho - like Holtby - is still on our books despite excelling in nothing other than running around. All about opinions, and it was only fair we let Gylfi go for the sake of his career, but I'd have him ahead of them two any day. Eriksen is better than all of them though, and has huge potential.

Spot on from grandspurs there, We all know Baldini/Levy combination failed to buy attacking players in the window. And didnt improve on the squad we had. Goals, shots and even attacking flare is something I think is going to lacking from the team. You can't blame MoPo or the players for this. They've just gotta get on with it the best they can and not have the fans on there back.
I think Arsenal may put us in our place on Saturday

Don
I thought Townsend did alright. He would look better than he does if we had strikers who were willing to get on the end of his crosses, so in that regard he's unfortunate he doesn't have more assists to his name. Looks a more attacking threat than Lennon.
Lennon's work rate is fine but I want a winger to be concerned with attacking the other end of the pitch. The guy does not do this anymore. He doesn't get in behind defenders and frighten the life out of them. People say we should bring him on to inject more pace yet when did he last use his pace to good effect?
They are deservedly in our second string team and I can't see them ever being regular starters.

No Siggy never complained and neither would I if I were an extremely average player that was in a top 5 squad would you?
I also would rather have Siggy than Paulinho but then I would rather have you than Paulinho at the moment
