Surely if you don't have the preferred personnel because of injuries or suspensions, then you need to fit a system - the right one depending on your opposition and circumstances will dictate all the above.

So why play the same formation on 3-4 occasions now with Sturridge out? If you don't have the right players for the Diamond then you think we have the right players for 4-3-3? or 1 striker? Given Borini and Lambert are not mobile or suitable and are Plan B, but your Plan A isn't exactly worked.


The last few games is clear were short up-front and Balotelli is no Suarez. Id say wrong Formation and Personnel today from BR. Markovic is no starter
right now and on form Suso should have had some part to play. Why would you not partner Stirling with Balo up-front and let Couts play behind them.
4-1-2-1-2 I thought really suited us today. The substitution at the end was unnecessary. You go 4-5-1 and bring on Lucas to shore up or 2 banks of 4 as teams do against us.
