up front. He gets crowded out on the wing and his passing/final ball is so inconsistent sometimes its dreadful. (aside from assist for Chadli)
But still think he has a style resembling RVP if he can find some ruthlessness and a bit of a nasty streak
STILL think Lamela should be tried...

So many aspects go into playing up front though. Can you really rely on him getting the ball under pressure facing his own goal and keeping hold of it. Does he have the pace to run in behind? Will he be in the right place when crosses come in? Is he strong enough? I personally can't see any kind of comparison with RVP, with the exception of their height and they're both left footed.

I dont think Lamela i strong enogh to hold the ball up if he plays as a lone striker. This is only really his 7th or 8 th starting league game for us. I think he is fine roaming just behind the striker but maybe needs to learn not to try and do too much.
As for a striker we need a proper one, Bony ertc who will suit our system.

Personally I would like to see Lamela in the no. 10 role, playing off a top quality and powerful striker with pace in the wide positions.
