In the champions league squad for tomorrow... So it'll be Costa to start I reckon. I'm not sure that Jose rates Remy as a lone front man. Wouldn't be surprised to see Remy get a very 'kalou like' squad role (but obviously much better) playing small games as the front man but mainly a second striker/winger in our other games.

eaxctly. Look how that worked out. Poor decisions. Whenever ba played, even against good teams, he scored or caused problems. Mourinhos a stubborn boy.
Never given a chance sadly. Hopefully remy will.

Remy won't be given a chance unless Costa is injured. And even then, his confidence will be constantly undermined by Jose.

its a shame. Remys a mini beast. quick, strong for his size, good finisher. Hes been injury prone so would be ashame if now hes finally fit he never gets game time.

and what have you seen KDB? scored as a sub for france with a banger, scored for us with a good finish as a sub and was OK against bolton. Hasnt really had much oppurtunity yet mate. how can you rate him at all?
Dont be like them people who slaughted ba even though he never had sufficient game time.

I liked Ba, think he is a better striker than Remy. Don't think Remy is that great as a lone striker. I think he will be used as a winger/striker more.
I've said it many times, international form I don't take into account.

How many times you seen remy as a lone striker? He was ok when I've seen him before

Quite a bit. Talk to Newcastle fans, Remy made a great start at Newcastle playing with a strike partner I believe he scored like 5 in 5 games or 5 in 6 games.
After that when played as a lone striker he suffered big time, and many Newcastle fans were saying he can't play as a lone striker. He looks good when picking the ball up from the left and cutting inside a bit like Henry. But as a lone striker he is crap, and that Bolton game just showed me even more that he doesn't perform well there.
I doubt Mourinho rates him as a lone striker as well, and he probably would have preferred Ba or Eto'o as 2nd/3rd choice over Remy. Ba is too good to be 3rd choice again.

KDB howcomes you don't take into account international form which is nearer our level yet include newcastle? he scored 14 goals in 26 games for newcastle...who are rubbish. and had a really good record in france too.
Your views are unfounded. He has scored goals wherever hes been, whether its as a lone striekr or not.
to judge him at just newcastle(where he still has good stats)after players like cisse and ba also slowed their goalscoring after initial bursts is silly.
If we don't try remy out a few more times itll be a huge waste.

Remi could be cool but I doubt he will have ample game time as long as Costa is fit. We shave let a lot of promising strikers go over the years, ba eto, Sturridge just to name a few, I doubt if remi would e any different

Also Remy will get plenty of chances this season, especially if Costa gets injured. I just don't rate him for any of the systems we have played so far.
A striker like him would have fit in at Liverpool very well I think, don't know what truly happened there.
