Anyone just watch Monday night football with Gary's and Jamies analysis of our corners.
In the last 4 years we rank between 17-19 in the prem with relation to corner conversions.
That's simply a joke in itself.
Arsenal rankings in terms of corners!

I think Cazorla had scored 4 or 5 direct free kicks the season before he joined us.

Santi and Arteta were renowned for their set pieces before joining us

Rvp was our last decent dead ball specialist

Couldn't rosicky hit a good free kick before he joined us? I know he was always good from long range. But we soon squashed that out of him.

I think its because our players are small and/or weak

Two reasons...
our deadball specialists are chit (due to lack of practice in training)
our players are midgets (easy to defend against)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the second point is particularly important. We are very much lacking aerial presence both in terms of attacking and defending set-pieces - something which could, in part, could be rectified by bringing in a defensive midfielder like Carvalho.

Holy sheet think how many more goals we would have scored if we had even an average conversion rate.

We get way more corners than any other team so could even afford below average. In fact, we get that many over the course of a season that anything better than the totally rubbish conversion rate we have now would give us plenty of goals.

Why are you complaining about this. We have had small technical players for the last 4 years of course they aren't going to score many corners. There are pros and cons to every decision, our team has the benefit of being able to control the ball and game far easier than most of the teams with huge players. We have scored a fair amount of goals that other teams can't due to our small technical players. Do you really want a team of Fellainis that can't do anything with the ball at their feet but score more set pieces? The 2010 Braca team (one of the best teams of all time) didn't score many corners either, do you think they are bothered?

I think it's more that people would like to see us at least taking decent corners to start with. Yes our players are small and technical, but that's no excuse since even Peter Crouch couldn't get on the end of half the balls in. Defenders don't even have to bother clrearing half our corners the balls are that lousy. Given they're all small and technical then how the hell is it none of them can get the dam ball into the six yard box from the corner spot. We get 10 or more corners in some games. Yet only 4 or 5 of them end up a good ball in. It should be 10 out of 10 that become good balls in. If we do that then even our small technical players will get some goals from the ensuing havoc. And there's no reason we shouldn't, they're pros and the flippin ball is static when they kick it, they've zero excuse for taking them so badly.
