Listening to talksport last night and the 2 Muppets Cundy and Goldstein were adamant they couldn't see Brendan Rodgers point of view over Sturridge! For me it's simple. Liverpool know how to look after him and he'll be eased back into the side and his training managed afterwards. What's the point in him going off and being managed by a different team of physics? It's a no brainer he shouldn't be in the England squad this time around. Not least for the fact he's down literally zero form as he's not been playing

If he plays against West Brom, Liverppol can just say he picked up a knock during it. Problem solved. England cant to f all then.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, they can request he turns up to the England HQ and undergoes an assessment to see if he is fit enough to play...

The players belong to the clubs. Its also the club manager's neck on the line all the time so Rodgers saying something about overplaying a player in international friendlies he has a right to do so. Its not the same as a CL or Prem game. Its about reasonable risk.
If he is fit England should be able to take him if they want but I think England also owe it to the player and the parent club to look after a players health and do what is reasonably in the best interests of a player because that way everyone benefits in the end.

Terry, Is that a joke? Gerrard and United’s England contingent.
--------------------------------------------------------
John Terry loved Chelsea more than England, do your research son.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Son, ohhh how patronising.
Looking at the main stays in the team over a similar period Terry, Gerrard and Ferdinand Terry averages more games per year than any of them for England, even allowing for Rio’s ban Terry averaged about 8.6 games a year compared to his 5.7, Terry has also missed a fair bit through his recurring back injures. Not sure exactly where you suggest I research data for players who have pulled out of international squads but I can tell you Terry didn’t make a habit of it and certainly not in the manner United have in the past under Fergie.

If you say so Rabbi.

On current form he shouldn't be picked
On fitness, if he's just coming back from injury he shouldn't really be picked
Rodgers shouldn't dictate when his players can and can't be picked for international duty
Hodgson will probably pick him and then release him after a fitness assessment
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fergie never dictated when players would play for their countries especially in friendlies

Where you went wrong is firstly listening to Talksport and secondly and most importantly, giving their opinions any credence. The whole point of it is to wind up callers, so as they call in.

I prefer to go by what I have noticed when Hodgson was at Liverpool. A total breakdown in the handling of the team. Could any fan trust Hodge to look after the wellbeing of their player on International duty? I doubt it.
We are in the dark ages of international football now and all Premiership managers would be well advised to treat any release if their players to that buffoon with caution.

Jason Cundy is still getting media work??
How the feck does he do it? He made about 150 senior appearances, and is mostly remembered for an absolute fluke of a goal, along with having to shave his head after losing a bet that Liverpool wouldn't get into the top 4 last season.
Aside from being married to a woman with a reinforced-plastic face (now divorced)....that's it. That's the sum total of his experience, and as far as I can tell, he knows feck all about anything at all, and doesn’t even seem very bright, or funny, or interesting, or anything at all.
He must have a feckin good address-book, but it just shows how lazy the media are ("we need a new guy to come in and talk sheite, when was the last time that fat cant Cundy was wheeled out?. Saw him in the Ivy last week, and he smiled at me....pass me his number".
I suppose it makes some sense that he’s working for Talksheite.
