You don't know what you've got...

Til it's gone...

Ahhh, Joni Mitchell!

So I see I've been missed, my "doom monger", "negative", "tedious" "insessent" (sic)*, ramblings have been upsetting the VD's, or trolls as I affectionately call them.

So, in 1,000 words or less, please tell me how our club is better placed than 12 months ago?

It's not in a better position in terms of managerial prowess or in terms of defensive quality but we're better up front.

978 to go.

- Our new manager's head is shinier and more appealing then our previous one's.

-Instability is the new stability.

Super Keith.

As I love negativity so much I'd suggest "we're better up front" is dependent upon a forward bagging more than the massive 5 of last years top scorer or the goals for column being superior.

Furthermore, if new attacking prowess means we are weaker at the back, will being better up front be better for the team. Put simply, we'd need to have averaged 2.5 goals per game to achieve 2 points, we have 0 points at an average of 1 goal per game.

I'm not sure we're going to make the Champions League this year...

Forgive me for trying to tell it the way I see it. We are better up front than 12 months ago but, as I stated, we are also worse at the back. Personally, I would prefer it the other way round but bringing in one decent manager and 1/2 more defenders would make our defence as good as it was 12 months ago.

Oh no, you are entitled to play catchphrase and say what you see! I am aware that our forwards won't have to do much to eclipse the massive golden boot tally offered last year. I just wonder if any will...

Something catastrophic would have to happen to stop at least one player getting more goals than that.

I hear it's what's known as "inept manager" syndrome...

Even a poor manager can't stop a decent striker scoring. For an example, look to Carlton Cole under Grant.

Possibly, I'm not sure any of our strikers are as decent as Cole when he's on top form though. I also fear for confidence within the squad...
