Arsenal Need to Re-Build from the Back

Considering the last few weeks, it is clear that we have to rebuild. Building our team from the back would be a good idea when you look at the last few seasons. Sometimes its players like Parker and Dann who can offer stability, and a core to a team that then allows the more technical players the opportunity to play to their best without the pressure of weak defense.

People feels that they are not good enough. I disagree. These are the type of players who can offer stability, a core to the team. The type of players who get the job done and do the dirty work. We don't need to have 11 world class technical players. We need balance, but most of all a foundation to build around and allow our passing game to flourish.

The players making up the spine of our team need to be loyal and i think that players from abroad are always looking to go to Spain or Italy in the long run. This is why building the core of our team with British players adds more long term security.

Look at MOST of the very best sides over the years in the premiership. Most importantly look at United. Even now Ferguson has begun to build the foundation of his side for the future in Smalling and Jones. Don't be surprised if he adds Jack Rodwell to his midfield in the next season or so.

This is where Wenger has gone wrong in my opinion. He got carried away with the technical side of the game and forgot that this is the premiership and without, Strength, Height, Power and Grit you will struggle. The invincible team had that. United, Chelsea and City have that and yes even Barcelona have that with Pique, Puyol and Busquets.
