Welbeck: Can you now see what we saw?

It appears the acquisition of Danny Welbeck created a divide among the Arsenal faithful, and quite rightly so. Some, like me, were ecstatic, not just because we felt he was better than what we had, but that he has so much potential and is the perfect raw material for Wenger to work his magic. Some? Not so much. It was Falcao, Cavanni or no one. And perhaps, some just felt Giroud was good enough and felt betrayed.

One of my pals tore into me after the second game and claimed Welbeck was not the saviour I thought him to be and that my excitement was a little too premature. He was served a full dose of humble pie last night.

Some Man U fans kept pointing to his stats while he played at United, but I was quick to point out that not only was he played out wide, but he wasn't their focal point of attack, perhaps as a lack of belief in his abilities. But there's a reason many Untied ex-players frowned at the idea of moving him to Arsenal as they all knew Wenger would been rubbing his hands in glee.

But on evidence of his start to life at Arsenal, after 5 games, 4 goals and 1 assist shows he could be the coup of the transfer window.

The hunt to break the 174 goal record has begun

Its just the ABU media who are now thinking Welbeck is good enough and Man utd were wrong to let him go and blaming his shocking goal scoring run on lack of games up front. I think any other player that missed the easy chances he has done at Man utd, if he wasn't a local lad would have been driven out the club. The fact we got £16m for him when he was our 4th choice striker is good business especially with his scoring record. He has a lot of pace and strength. He actually is just a less skilled Gervinho so you should have just kept Gervinho. I am thinking he might score 20 goals this season as Wenger has got into him to take time when through. When at Man utd he used to do crazy things when through on goal that cost us goals and points and goal difference. You could say the 11/12 season his shocking misses at the emirates he should have scored 4 more easy goals that SAF was gonna give him the hairdryer treatment but his late winner with his hardest but instinctive shot chance going in saved SAF wrath.

That Bayern Munich game was so frustrating when Welbeck through on goal decides to loft the ball and hit Neur arms. It looked like a certain goal as 80% of the goal was there to be aimed at but Welbeck decides to loft it at the keeper. Funnily enough his disallowed goal he took one touch then rifled it in the next in the same game in the 2nd minute.

Welbeck is a big game player. Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal & Everton in 11/12. Real Madrid in 12/13. United are Sad to see him leave. Sir Alex believed in Welbeck. Cheers Van Gaal you muppet

Over reaction to a hatrick against a tyeam and particularly goalkeeper who looked poor.

I'm very happy he got it and with the result, but a decent gk could have saved all of them. I still hope he will be a big success for us and think he is our best striker, but one game is not enough to claim hes made it.

But if he gets a hatrick against Chelsea......

What if Welbeck gets more goals than Falcao this season Hafi?

I expect Falcao to get at least 20 league goals and maybe a few in the fa cup. Welbeck will have to become something he hasn't been for last 5 years and take chances regularly.
