Welbeck Proves Wenger Has Lost The Plot!

Wenger cannot take the credit for signing Welbeck. Had Giroud remained fit, he would have signed no one. Had Sanogo, bagged a few goals prior to transfer deadline day, he would have signed no one. In fact Wenger cryptically said, the day after deadline day when he was quizzed on SSN as to why he wasn't in the country for the last day of the transfer window that had he stayed in the country, Welbeck wouldn't have been signed. When pressed he refused to expand on this statement saying that in the fulness of time, all will be revealed. But Wenger's lack of clarity on this statement leads to speculation. What did he mean? Was he on the one hand saying that had he been in town that he would have blocked the Welbeck transfer or on the other hand Wenger's presence in town would have prevented the deal from going through as the sellers (Man UTD) would have been intimidated by the spectre of Wenger in the background. Thirdly he could have meant that the powers that be at Arsenal went behind his back and bought Welbeck without Wenger's authority.

Whatever the true answer to the above question is, Wenger does not come out of it smelling of roses. Why is it that Wenger is the last person to know that Arsenal was in dire need of a top top striker and that Giroud is not the answer! Fans have been calling out for Wenger to invest, literally for years, in a striker.

Unfortunately for our defence, Wenger stubbornly did not heed the warning during the last transfer window that our defence was in desperate need of strengthening especially as Vermaelen wasn't replaced. This may potentially cost us dear.

The above situation is nothing new. Since we last won the league, our squad has lacked true balance. If it wasn't the goal keeper that needed replacing then it was the defence that needed beefing up. If it wasn't the defence then it was the strikers ….etc etc. We have always been short of one or two quality player to make a competitive squad…and the fans have always known it and voiced their opinion. Typically Wenger has been slow to react to the above issues.

So I'll end by asking, why is a man who is so stubborn and so blind still in charge and running our club?

At the end of the interview when he sauid that wenger made it clear that the fact he was travelling that day meant he got up earlier and had time to speak to people to complete the deal. We have this wonderful invention called a telephone and as time progressed a mobile telephone was developed. Its amazing, it means people can talk to people without being face to face.

But I would like to add, that despite my sarcastic defence of Wenger I do think he is so stuck in his ways that he is unable to develop and its questionable if he will be able to come up with a way of ever winning the league again.

When Wenger signed Welbeck it was: Wenger Has Lost The Plot - we need some WC striker like Falcao
Now the boy scored some goals and it's again: Wenger Has Lost The Plot - it was clearly Gazidis signing
In case we didn't signed him I'm sure again it would have been: Wenger Has Lost The Plot - we needed more signings
After the FA Cup: Wenger Has Lost The Plot - 1 trophy in 9 years, he has to go
No need to give reasons guys, whatever the man does he's at fault and cleary has to go

It's all s conspiracy lol. The last two summers we have signed some top top players. Players will look at arsenal and think 'I want to play with those guys, they are good'

I don't care how they ended up with us but they did. The only think that grinds me about Wenger is his lack of tactical sense in certain instances. If Maureen and Wenger swapped teams and played each other Maureen would always win.

Mr. Eboue Emmanuel (U12374) has it spot on. If we won the title these people would still find ways to say hes lost the plot or he should be sacked.

The main motivation for moronic articles like this is that op has been proved completly wrong so he needs to twist reality to fit in line with his view. The media and pundits do it all the time to us too.

We have seen a lot of this reality twisting this week highlight being "its easier for Wenger to win the league than it is for a manager of a sugar daddy club"

If Wenger got lucky with Welbeck due to Giroud's injury, great.

Steady on. Wenger's a tactical plum at times but if they swapped teams now, I wouldn't fancy even Jose's chances. His speciality is parking the bus against the opposition that can beat him. And this Arsenal side would be/are useless at that.

The only way this Arsenal team beats that Chelsea team is to play the game we play, at it's very best. Jose wouldn't get anywhere.

Criticise Wenger if you like but keep the criticism in the realms of reality. Every time Murinho has beaten Wenger, he's done it with a considerably stronger team and squad. We're fully aware of what Wenger can do with an entire squad of the world's best talent. Not too clear about what Jose can do with a team that'd be useless at parking the bus.

What a deluded load of nonsense. Wenger manages Arsenal FC - not Leyton Orient. You'd expect he'd beat Maureen at least ONCE in the dozen or so games played. Just ONCE! He's tactically overmatched and outclassed by Maureen. That's the bitter truth. And Chelsea's squad that hammered us 6-0 weren't "considerably stronger" than us in any way. We made Schurrle and Oscar look like Ronaldo and Messi cos we were pathetic, tactically naive pus.sies.
