James McCarthy, Jonathan Walters and Marc Wilson have all been left out of the Ireland squad for the upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers against Slovakia and Russia.
The trio are the most high-profile absentees from Giovanni Trapattoni's 25-man squad for the double-headers, while Damien Delaney and Ciaran Clark have also been left out.
Paul McShane and Seamus Coleman are missing through injury, but Aiden McGeady has been included - despite doubts surrounding his fitness.

Given, Westwood, Forde, O'Shea, Foley, Kelly, Ward, Dunne, Kilbane, St Ledger, O'Dea, Whelan, Gibson, Andrews, Fahey, Keogh, Duff, McGeady, Hunt, Lawrence, Treacy, Keane, Doyle, Long and Cox

Its still a strong squad even without the likes of Mc Carthy and Coleman.
Fingers crossed our "main" players i.e Given, Dunne,O'Shea, Duff,Mc Geady, Doyle and Keane will all be available for selection against Slovakia and Russia

Those players left out are left out for good reason, and none of them would have started anyway. If McCarthy doesn't turn up for the U-21's then he's another that Ireland will have to forget about.
