Van Persie said this week that the difference between United and Arsenal was that United expected success and Arsenal are merely always aiming for it.
Here is my take on it.
Below are two playing careers with similar caps at two of the country's biggest clubs.
Arsenal
FA Community Shield: 1991 (shared), 1998, 1999
UEFA Cup Winners' Cup: 1993–94
Career caps: 505
Manchester United
FA Premier League (6): 1995–96, 1996–97, 1998–99, 1999–2000, 2000–01, 2002–03
FA Cup (3): 1995–96, 1998–99, 2003–04
FA Community Shield (3): 1996, 1997, 2003
UEFA Champions League (1): 1998–99
Intercontinental Cup (1): 1999
Career caps to date: 504
The first career is of a man who will have a bronze statue outside of the Emirates for the next 100 years.
The second career belongs to Philip Neville.
Sums it up nicely.

Pundit could come up with a scheme for minus statues (for the mathematically challenged, they're the opposite of statues) for managers who fail to strengthen their squads and get their teams needlessly relegated and sink without strace. Maybe Bute could advise him on that.

I only sneer at this myth that Wenger is still a good manager when it is quite clear his dealings over the last 7 or 8 years have been terrible.
They have as much chance of winning another prem league title under Wenger as we have of winning the prem under Jackett.

You've outdone yourself on the stupidity front with that comment, Cinci.

What you a describing is not a “minus statue” it is an anti-statue and the problem with anti-statues is that if they come into contact with “real” matter both the anti-statue and the matter are utterly obliterated in an explosion that instantly converts all of the mass within both into energy.
The resulting explosion is of epic proportions (e=mc2 and all that jive) and even a relatively small anti-statue explosion could destroy an area the size of a small town leaving it a desolate, uninhabitable wasteland that would remain barren for centuries.
I don’t know why I’m explaining all this to you as I’m sure you already know how West Brom came into being.

This isn't about Brian Talbot, but he did play for Arsenal, didn't he?

I wasn't really into physics or any of Albert Einstein's theories Tatter, but I do know someone with a sense of humour decided to make Wolverhampton a city just so it could be voted the world's fifth worst.
