For club or country? I've always thought these calls were absolutely ridiculous, but I'm wondering if there are any England (or United) fans that really want him out of the starting lineup. In my opinion Rooney has been hugely underrated and under appreciated in the past 5 or so seasons, so I'll always support his inclusion, but whoscored.com's most recent article brought up some interesting points

Rooney should be dropped. Then when England do worse without him, they will beg him to come back, just like how the media went after Beckham, when when we were rubbish on the right they soon changed their tune.

It's a tough one because he will always get and make you goals.
Maybe he doesn't help either side in general play, but do we have a better goalscorer? No,
It's been a problem Utd have suffered with for some time, to stick or twist with Rooney. Personally I'd play him up top.

Or drop his pants on his head. Bound to be a few púbes in there. Would help him enormously in terms of hair coverage on the top of his head.
