I actually want us to miss out on top 4 this season and actually spend a few year rebuilding if it is going to mean getting rid of the senile Frenchman. The current cycle of fourth place battles is just KILLING any passion I used to have for football and trust me there used to be quite a lot of fire there. I'd rather we get in new blood and new ideas (or some ideas, there's currently none) and spend a few years in the wilderness if it will mean we finally get out of this cycle of mediocrity. I am sooo fed up!!
At the moment there absolutely nothing to look forward to that is exciting. You just know how it is going to end and then...REPEAT. I am sorry for naming names but even people like Godfather (whom I admire his sticking to his guns) are getting more of a fix from going against the rest of the fanbase than from actually supporting the club.
The thing is, we actually don't have any qualms about most of the players, we actually have a very talented bunch but the problem is a manager who has absolutely no idea in getting the best out of them! I think the best thing to do at the moment is unite as a fanbase and force his out. Our love for the club demands this! Anyway I am just rambling now but I think you get the point, ENOUGH WITH MEDIOCRITY!!
Enough :(

I do find it hilarious that people think that if we get rid of Wenger, the new manager will have no problems whatsoever with getting Arsenal to where these fans want us to be, as though getting rid of Wenger is the only hurdle in our way

Like Liverpool did?
"
To be fair Liverpool did under the same manager that was previously gettign them top 4, so If Wenger led us to 7th place like Lafa did for them then yes

I'm no huge fan of Lafa, but he would have got them back in the top 4 quicker, than they have without him IMO.
I'm just saying, be careful what you wish for. If you had a top manager waiting to take over, then maybe, but I can't understand how anyone could hope to finish outside the top 4 in order to get rid of a manager. Maybe if the manager was David Moyes... I had my moments.

completely different situation though
we dropped down because the owners asset stripped the side to pay off personal, high interest loans. not because of mistakes by the manager.
Wenger got a warchest, if he dropped out it would either be gross incompetence or a series of really unfortunate and unlucky events.

I'd never wish a lesser achievement for my club just to satisfy something I feel to be a necessary end, my love for the club far outweighs any ill feeling I harbour for any of its employees.

and this is my facking problem

Actually yes but I am pretty sure it won't be to that extent as we have way more resources than Liverpool did when it happened to them. Keep Wenger and we will never win or even challenge for the league, bring an astute manger and we will be challenging in 3 years.
===========================
You have the resources, but a board that don't want to use those resources, it seems. There are hardly any top managers available. Klopp and Simeone aint going anywhere.

With Kroenke Inc. at the helm, we will always be a corporation masquerading as a football club....
Just look at his portfolio of sports franchises... All very successful & profitable from a business standpoint but mired in mediocrity from a sporting standpoint.
To move forward (win the league or CL), Wenger has to go but I have zero confidence that the muppets in charge have the same ambition of the fans which will be reflected in the appointment of Wengers successor.
2 reasons Wenger got 3 more years are....
- Keeping a steady stream of CL money for finishing 4th
- Buying Song for 1mil & selling for 15mil or RVP bought for 3.5mil, Sold for 24mil; Cesc - 500k, sold for 35mil... and the list goes on & on.
They are turning us into Ajax - minus a CL trophy.

If Arsenal fall out of the top 4 then your finances will be cut. You will struggle to get back in and all be wishing wenger was still in charge.

Wengerite
Well, I absolutely agree that you are entitled to your opinion. I will ask this though. Everyone and his dog knew that the main problem we had last year was that we had an unbalanced squad we only needed some slight tweaking and we would stand a much better chance to challenge (didn't expect to win btw) for the league. Fast forward this year and we have an even more unbalanced squad with an underbelly so soft ot can be exploited by even the shiiitiest of teams. One person was in charge of fixing that but he didn't bother and look at where we are now. This is not just a reaction to a poor result but to clear negligence of duties by someone being paid a lot of money but he is too comfortable to be bothered to do it. It might only be after 8 games but sooner or later, the issues in the squad were going to exposed and we would predicably fall short again, go on a great run, secure top 4 and...REPEAT. You can't tell me you are not tired of this, can you?!

It will be more than just " ... spend a few years in the wilderness ... " if the club ditched Mr Wenger.
Trust me, he is the best manager in the league. And, in all honesty, that current team/squad should be lot lower in the league than they are. Plus they would have been even less successful, over the past ten, years without his unique ability to get the best out of average.
Ditch Mr Wenger without some kind of in-built, pre-planned continuity would be a disaster for the squad. AFC just don't have the fan base, players or market position to rescue a poor season like MUFC appear to be doing and would get into long-term rut of aiming for 5th let alone 4th.
With that team, and squad, any manager would struggle and struggle more than they will under the man himself.
