PREVIEW |
The Reds beat West Brom in their last outing just over a fortnight ago, whereas QPR's dreadful start to the season continued with defeat at West Ham.
Much criticism has surrounded Raheem Sterling following England's latest round of qualifiers, but he is expected to start despite asking to be rested during the nations victory in Estonia a week ago.
That is the good news for Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers, but the bad news came on Friday night when it was revealed striker Daniel Sturridge would be out for up to another month - this time with a calf injury having only just recovered from a thigh problem.
For QPR and Harry Redknapp the team talk on Sunday should be simple enough - we must win.
They have only tasted victory once in seven games thus far in the league and already find themselves four points adrift of safety, albeit with this weekend's match to play.
However, their record against Liverpool doesn't give them much hope as the Hoops have lost five of their last six meetings against the Reds, their only victory that stunning turnaround from two goals behind to win 3-2 in March 2012.
Another worry for QPR is their next three fixtures after Sunday, as they face Aston Villa, Chelsea and champions Manchester City.
Both teams need the three points from this game but for very different reasons.
