Forget what the haters say. At this point of the season simply getting 3 points from the likes of QPR, Burnley and Newcastle are far more important than performance levels. We have the majority of the season to get better as a team especially in the diamond with the return of Sturridge. However we will not keep getting luck like that every week and we were very fortunate Leroy Fer couldn't hit a barn door today otherwise we should have gone in 0-2 down at the break.

Today the performance of Balotelli really annoyed me because there is up to a point you can blame the system and say he's not performing at his optimum because of another striker alongside him. That was not the reason for his poor decision making or his horrible open goal miss. This is a team with a system that cannot afford passengers with the style of play we have and it is imperative that he improves.

Also I said it on the match thread but for whatever reason the defence is not good enough at defending aerial balls - it was like watching the U13's girls side up against Franco Baresi as Zamora bullied both Lovren and Skrtel. It's a glaring weakness and both goals came from set pieces yet again. It's becoming a real farce.

How many times in the past few seasons have we played great football and lost or drew? The Premier League owes us these undeserved points. Hopefully we can start playing well and getting deserved one's soon.

I have no idea how we're gonna play against Madrid. I don't think we'll be winning the midfield battle and up against the pace of Ronaldo and Bale we're gonna have the same problems everybody else does.

I hate to say it but it's perhaps a match when we stick Lambert up front and play on the counter, crossing balls into him, keeping it tight at the back. We aren't playing well enough to play our own game.

Winning the game was the important thing.

Losing Sturridge again is a big blow, but hopefully our form will pick up sooner rather than later. So far in his Liverpool career, Brendan has generally found solutions to some of the problems he's faced, certainly offensive ones.

Despite a horrible performance today that's 7 points out of 9,( although we did have a poor result against Basle.in the CL).

We are ahead of our expected top 4 rivals (utd, spurs & arsenal ) despite playing poorly.

It doesn't matter how many times in the past the team has played brilliantly and won nothing. That's the worst performance I've seen by the Reds for a long time. Total domination by QPR who deserved to win by a country mile.

Then by that token in doesn't matter that we played poorly and won.

We were gash jimmy, bar Sterling and Coutinho.

However, winning when playing so poorly is great. Not as good as playing well and winning, but it's still the next best thing.
