So having a quick look around the league at the weekend and tonight, I was thinking who we really miss from the players we've let go?
De Jong at the time I felt was a big loss but he's failed to replicate any of that form, largely down to injury. Jerome Boateng has gone onto bigger and better things and could certainly add to our team but beyond that, I'm struggling to find anyone stand-out.
Onouha bought this to my attention really as despite the unsightly way it happened, the lad never progressed from when he was England U-21 captain. Lescott getting moved off the ball with ease tonight added to this.

Cant work out wether your a wum or not.
De Jong could still get in this side no doubt, Boetang was awful for us looks good in very good Bayern and Germany sides.
Lescott was fantastic under Mancini for the first 2 seasons but went downhill i wish him the best but along with Onouha not good enough for us.

De Jong couldn't get into this City team, even if he would, he has injury problems that would likely be exacerbated by the nature of Premier League football compared to that of Serie A.
I loved De Jong, and still have fond memories of his time at City, but Fernandinho is streets ahead of him.
No he doesn't make the same kind of crunching tackles as the Dutchman, but he doesn't have to; the Brazilian has ability and alertness to intercept or tackle standing up, enabling City to counter or retain the ball more effectively x

Not saying he'd play over Fernandinho but he would get games in this team with rotation...I know its early days but he looks better than what i've seen of Fernando so far.
