India suspend all future WI tours

Getting a bit silly now. Personally, I think the West Indian players had every right to decide not to play until they were paid fairly. And the $65m losses suffered by the BCCI (if indeed it is as much as this) can easily be recovered through sponsorships and TV rights. BCCI is getting more and more ridiculous these days.

To be fair to the BCCI it is mainly an issue between the WICB and its players but losing out on a substantial amount of income is going to hurt any board but they are already the richest cricket board in the world so there was hardly any need to suspend all future tours.

They'd be better off trying to improve grassroots cricket in India rather than chasing after the cash but we all know that won't happen. However the WICB have problems quite clearly and its been going on for a number of years now from the Gayle dispute to now this. It's a shame because the West Indies used to be the most feared side in the world probably even more so than the famous Australia side of the 00's but now there is a lack of capital and investment in their Cricket.

The test matches with West Indies have been replaced with 5 ODIs with Sri Lanka. I think they'll probably end up generating more money with the ODIs than they would have with the test matches.

Its typical of us - can't win a test series abroad so we invite the likes of West Indies or Bangladesh in a 3 match test series to gain some ranking points at home

Also I hear Dhoni will be rested for a few ODI's with Kohli captaining.

cant fault BCCI in particular because one can any board actually trust WI now? if they could midway abandon a tour with India then what does that leave for other cricketing nations?

Obviously for WI to stay alive they will need BCCI tours but now its upto WICB to communicate and convince the BCCI.

ALso this is the fate of many other test playing nations. right now pak and aus are playing tests when there is no one watching in the stadiums. how long can that carry on?
