If it is a joke, then all the voters are jokers including the club managers, professional players, sport writers and the like. Keep in mind, these jokers also played a joke by voting in Ronaldo the last time.

Cameroon's manager votes for Eto'o every year. Barcelona's captain wont vote for a Madrid player and vice versa. It's like a bunch of children are in charge

That's only a select few, about 1% of the overall votes. Majority of the votes come from small football nations and that's the main count.

To be fair, Ronaldo deserved one of those and Sneijder deserved another.

Ronaldo has NEVER deserved any of Messi's Ballon D'Ors. Not even close. You could make a decent case for Sneijder, but I would rather have given it to Xavi than Schneider that year. Always thought Sneijder is a bit overrated myself.

Both Ronaldo and Messi have scored a joint 68 CL goals. Ronaldo has played 105 games and Messi 88. Ronaldo started featuring in the CL in 2003 and Messi 2005. And we both know who has the greater number of assists. Game over!

They are both quality, hard to separate them really. They seem to edge past each other now and again but even when one is clearly doing better there is very little between them.

Number 4 Shirt, you need to watch Messi a bit this season to update your opinions on him. It's true that his performances dropped sharply for around a year and a half, but don't include this season into the equation. He's showing much better physical fitness and involvement and is evolving his game. He's now playing from deeper, more in a no.10 position, which explains why his assists tally is so high and why his scoring is more spread out.
