Roy Hodgson

People say it's hard being the England manager...I beg to differ. Pressure may be on him for a handful of weeks every year but the rest of the time he, or whoever is England manager at the time, can get free entry to any game they want to. Obviously this sometimes makes sense, but tonight Hodgson is at Stamford Bridge, where the only Englishman on the pitch is the retired John Terry. Being England manager is like a free season ticket to every game in the country, I wouldn't mind that on £3 million a year.

He could probably get a free ticket if he wasn't England manager too.

Non story.

You get to be crap at the job you're being paid to do as well. Not bad, huh?

The trick is to be a decent England manager....I feel roy will never succeed at this.

Seriously most days he must do absolutely nothing. I can't imagine him planning tactics midweek when the next England game isn't for another month. And even then it's against a minnow team.

Not to mention he didn't even win a game at the last tournament and that was deemed good enough to keep the job

People nitpick because it's Hodgson, is the point of the post.

Would the OP have written this article if Rafa was England manager and was at a game with no English players?

Would he balls.

And why not nitpick? The man's a walking disaster, and a horrible, slimy, back stabbing creature to go with it.

Instead of taking freebie corporate tickets, with extra expenses no doubt paid for by the FA, he should be at home studying post 1980 tactics. Then our national team might not be quite the embarrassment it currently is.

That might not be a ridiculous statement of we weren't top of group without conceding while other 'top' countries have already lost to relative minnows.
