It's been my day off today so it has given me the chance to try and understand the debacle that is happening to the Rovers.

I believe that there truth in the rumors that Dickov has lost part of the dressing room. I heard a few weeks ago from a source within that community that all was not well. The camp is divided into two groups, his boys and the ones that are contracted by other people. Some of these though will be loyal either by past asssociation or resurrection of a career.

I have been in that situation where I was brought in by a assistant manager and although spent a year with the club I never got a proper chance because I was not the Managers boy.

In Dickov's own words he says he was never the most skilful player, it seems that this also transends into management. He has had to recruit a striker coach.!!!

The returns he has brought the club by his results are shocking. Though his demeanor with the press and his employer are first rate. Though there comes a time when this facade is not enough. His ability as a coach now has to be questioned in the cold light of the day.


The players he has brought in have fallen short of expectations. With a low budget available this has made our predicament even more vulnerable.

If the Board intend us to have a successful football team they must act now, and bring in another manager. RTID

Aussie Lad: If Belief were the sole key to success all you would need is a bunch of super-confident blokes with a modicum of skill. Copps says that confidence isn't what's missing and did not refer to "belief" once in his 6-minute interview. In fact, analysing what he did say, all that seemed credible was that they needed to find "a formula that works".

The fact that they are casting around trying to find a system of playing that is effective supports my view that the wins have been fortuitous and that there is no established tactical plan. If after all this time in charge, Dickov (with the possible assistance of the players) are still using trial and error, suggests monumental incompetence. I suppose that this is consistent with the Dickov's references to "sitting down with the players and talking about performances". Whilst it is all very well to consult, it sounds as though Dickov is now relying on the players to dig him out of the hole, bereft of his own ideas.

Buying a few more older players will certainly add voices to the discussions, but it sounds pretty desperate to me.

I agree Donaldo it looks he has come to the end term.

It is desperation measures now. Why bring in Lucas Neal now when he had Quinn on contract to start with.

The sooner this situation is resolved we can move on again.

Quinn had the option to re sign Aussie but he declined the terms that we offered to him by the club.
Quinn exercised the release clause in his contract.

Andy Butler from the Blades ! is it a positive move, not sure. Reason, is he any better than the centre backs we have ? Only time will tell. I would have liked to see a left sided full back come in.
