According to the telegraph- he was in hospital with a bad stomach bug which no-one knows if he's over but also has groin and hamstring issues going into the weekend.
No wonder that Jose was so angry with Spain after this. I sincerely hope that he sits out the next international break. Looking more and more likely to be Drogba up top on Sunday...

Sweet.
I'll take your word for it that there are direct quotes from Remy as I can't see the full article.
--------------------------------------------------------------
I haven't seen the Sun but seen a similar thing in Guardian.
They will assess him today, Remy is hoping that he will be fit and its not a major issue.
We will see with the scan,” Rémy said. “I really hope it is not too bad. Fortunately I stopped playing because I felt something. I don’t think it is too bad but I felt something. My groin.
“Yes, it’s frustrating of course because I had a chance to play because Costa is injured but I am not afraid. I don’t think it is really bad. We will check and I really hope to play again this weekend.
“It is a huge game but every game is tough. Especially this one because it is a big game against a good opponent but I will try to recover as quickly as possible.”
Rémy confirmed that he could already feel that something was wrong before his goal. “No, before that, it was a bit stiff, even my run and I didn’t feel very comfortable,” he said. “That’s why I prefer to come off but for me I have to care about myself and if I’m not feeling very good it’s better to leave for another player who is 100%.”

I wasn't fully aware of the situation, sounds like there is a lack of trust and communication between Chelsea and the Spanish FA.

I don't. I think Spain knew damn well what they were doing.

Sorry you couldn't link in its subscription only. Story below.
LOIC REMY is confident he will be available for Chelsea’s trip to Old Trafford on Sunday — despite being written off for two weeks by boss Jose Mourinho.
Frenchman Remy, 27, limped off with a groin injury after scoring the first goal as the Blues thrashed Maribor 6-0 last night in the Champions League.
The £10.5million signing from QPR will undergo a scan today and Mourinho has all but ruled him out of the clash with Manchester United.
But Remy believes the problem is not serious and is keen to test himself against Louis van Gaal’s expensively-assembled squad.
He said: “I don’t think it’s really bad and I hope to play again this weekend.
“I was a bit stiff before I scored my goal and didn’t feel very comfortable but fortunately I stopped playing straight away because I felt something in my groin.
“That’s why I preferred to come off. I have to take care of myself and if I’m not feeling good it’s better for the team to leave the pitch for another player who is 100 per cent.”

What bugs me and I suspect Jose is taking the risk of playing Costa against Luxembourg after he played the full 90 against Slovakia.
Injury management was non existent and I agree with Superb that Spain knew what they were doing. I suspect they were trying to show Jose and CFC that they will not be told how to manage Costa.
Luxembourg for crying out loud. Hardly a threat.

Bov, as I said earlier, Del Bosque's repeatedly listened to players' requests to be rested, most recently in the previous call up when Pique asked to be left out due to recurrent hip trouble (which is what happens when you try too hard to imitate Shakira).
Imo, Costa's as much to blame as the next man in this one.

Cheers Bov, hopefully Remy is fit

If Costa got told to play both games for Spain would he have had much choice not to without jeopardising his international career ?

Sup, as I said earlier, Del Bosque has repeatedly given players dispensation. I don't see any reason at all for him to treat Costa any differently.

itsonly, the issue for Spain and Costa, is ,
1, Spain are pants at the moment.
2, Costa has something to prove.
Del Bosque, will not wish to ruin the player imo.

I have no idea of Costa's fitness...I hear Remy is ok though..
Drogs will be lost at the Utd game I fear, & will offer little
