Silly Season - The plot thickens

New reports are coming through that Audi are planning on entering a Formula 1 team in 2016, releasing their stranglehold on the WEC.

To make driver speculation even more interesting, word is that the German marque are in talks with Fernando Alonso as their lead driver.

What does this mean for the future? Does this mean Button and Magnussen's McLaren seats are safe? Could Audi renew their fierce rivalry with Mercedes? Does this talk have anything to do with Audi's appointment of Stefano Domenicali?

Things just got interesting, people.

we have heard the audi to F1 before T/A but it never seems to happen probably because they have dominated DTM or whatever ,

cant see alonso wanting to join a new team in 2016 at such a late stage in his career , after 5 wasted yrs at ferrari his only interest now is to win more WDC to cement his legacy and he is never going to do that at audi --

Tall and Clueless you don't seem to get it, nothing will save Button now! No team wants Button as their driver, he is finished, finito! Stop with these mental gymnastics!

Truth..... do you know for certain that Button won't be driving for Mclaren next year? If you do, your source please. If you don't you are speculating and performing your own mental gymnastics.

I wouldn't say no to Porsche, especially if they coax Mark Webber into joining their lineup.
