Time to Accept

It's not a managerial problem.

Harry wasn't backed in the January market. AVB wasn't backed in any market. Sherwood was undermined. Pochettino didn't get who he wanted in the summer.

The result of which is a squad of players the managers never truly need in order to implement the style they wish to impose. A squad of very average players at silly prices. A squad of players without the mental facilities to show some nerve.

The club needs to be sold. Same stuff has been happening for years on end and Spurs fans should save their passion for somebody who actually genuinely cares about taking the club forward.

Don't let managers become the scapegoat for a much larger, more significant problem.

thats the worst thing. newcastle are SO bad. and after we scored first we should have run away with it.

at 1-0 i would have told you that a draw would have been a terrible result against that lot. but to then lose is simply a disgrace.

Levy is financing a new stadium, hence spending nothing in every window, we will continue to tread water for a while yet.

Look at the signings mostly young with potential and with a possibility of making a profit on them.

The clubs with real ambition (and money) go out and sign proven top class players to make an instant impact, Spurs sign younger less established players that may turn into top players, there is no wonder we are stagnating.

They should have scored another to make it 1-3 as well. It's as if we played like we never expected them to make a fight for it, even after the break. Like we could just comfortably see out the 1-0 victory without really trying. Criminally naive performance.

that strategy has served us well in the past to be fair.

we have tried to pick up establish players but often got pipped by a richer club at the final hurdle.

william, mata, hazard are three that pop straight into my head.

Never read so much dross on this board since Arry was sacked!

Cannot believe so many of us think we are some sort of top 3 contender automatically with only 1 year in the CL in the clubs history!

Get used to the fact that to get back to where we were we need to rebuild again as we do not have the finances or followings of Utd et al to be constant challengers or bounce back after 1 season!

We pulled ourselves back together after Ramos and a DoF cocking us up and what do we do, go back to that way again and what a surprise we've gone back to being useless.

Levy is a plank.

Why do we need to rebuild again?

I'm with Scribe, the sense of entitlement on this board since we got top four is palpable.

We don't spend money, we invest in youth and hope we get good before we have to sell.. we've got another few years of this until the stadium's built..

I'm already sick of people saying sack the manager though, that's the last thing we need.

ever since I have supported us 1989. We have mainly bought up and coming players with the odd exception.

When we got top 4 first time we had a team that had Modric coming of age and Bale turning into a superstar plus a good season from King and Lennon who we put a lot of time and effort into.

move forward to now and we have sold or lost to injury 3-4 key players (when big clubs come knocking I don't care who you are you have to often sell!) we have invested in some very promising youngsters and have once again just like the early 00's started to bring through 1 or 2 youth academy projects which would indicate that if we keep the faith we will recycle around again to having a hugely promising team that can break the top 4 monopoly (which we are 1 of only 2 teams to do for decade without huge investment from owners own pockets)
