Media and rival fans like to think that he is but is he really?
Do mercenary's stay at their home town club for 7 years despite never even getting into europe and despite having obvious world class talent, its the equivalent of some-one like Neymar sticking with Everton (yes i know Neymar is not a scouser but you get you drift).
Do mercenary's then take a pay cut to move to England?
Do mercenary's then reject being made the higest player in english football (Man.City) and stay at a club despite numerous times failing to match his ambitions then dropping out of the CL?
Torres really a mercenary??

i don't think torres would of left liverpool if he knew that the fenway group investment was going to bring in so many players.
he left because rightly so, he felt the club were going backwards
once he gets his form back (which will happen) i can see torres, mata and modric (if he joins) being as good a front three as good as silva, aguero and nasri
he's too good a players

I don't know ¥ anyone would think of F€rnando Torr£$ as a mercenary.

Basically he was labelled a mercenary by Liverpool fans who simply cannot bring themselves to accept that they are no longer the toast of Europe and that clubs they used to tower over are now better, more attractive propositions for players than they are

He want's success and trophies... or at the very least Champions League football. If Liverpool and Chelsea had been pretty much the same over the last few years (or Chelsea worse) then you could accuse him of going for the pay cheque, but as it is.... no.
