Defensive frailty

Punditocracy and their enablers, the media, keep harping on about our defensive frailties. Firstly, we have had what could pass for our senior defenders injured for more than 7 of the 9 games played so far. Secondly, we lost three senior defenders, at one time all giants of the football world defensively. They may have been past-it but defensive leadership and positional play only comes with age and experience. Thirdly, for whatever reason, the brass at United were unable to buy a 'marquee' defender and the window closed. We can only hope that defensive cover is bought in January but harping on it will not contract time.
However, while individual defenders are important, its the team defensive approach that gets you those narrow wins based on clean sheets. This is best shown by Mourinho. Slowly, but surely, the team is getting better defensively. Fellaini put in marvelous tackles yesterday, there was more pressing of Chelsea players and a passing comment on the goal missed the fact that RVP, a great defender he is not but he was on the goal line. I have faith we will get it right both from 'great offense is great defence' and also good positional play when our back 5 is more settled.
So please stop harping on our clear as crystal defensive inadequacies and watch Van Gaal transform United into as hard a team to beat as the Netherlands were.
PS: Who decided Rafael has the jumping ability to mark Didier?

Say My Name is still crying that we scored a late goal yesterday, I love how upset we made some of these Chelsea fans

If he carries on, there will be flood warnings in the West London or Western Africa regions.

I don't think Chelsea fans were ever quite this bad, must be some of the new younger fans they have picked up since Roman rolled into town.

Deluded? Why? Your squad is a few years ahead in terms of experience however ours is full of potential (shaw, rafael, jones, smalling, Herrera, januzaj, blind, Wilson) and in a couple of years time will form the spine of a top side.

This is spot on. So why are you having a go at the pundits when all they do is point out the same things as you have here. You make it sound like they have it in for you.

Poor management that. They clearly hadn't been properly briefed on their responsibilities.
