Who has impressed?

So we're already 14 games into the season, (excluding internationals), who has impressed/surprised you most, and vice versa.

+I think Matic has been our player of the season so far, solid in every game, has developed good communication with Fabregas, Oscar and Ivanovic.

+Didn't think Fabregas would be so direct, I thought he was a slightly more passive player, but he's always got his head up, looking for the killer ball for the runs of Hazard and Costa.

+Costa is the obvious choice for most, he's been immense, perfect fit for our team and the league.

Other mentions are Dave and Drogba.

On the other hand:

- I was expecting more from Schurrle this season then he's currently given, came back to us as World Cup winner, but his shooting has been poor, as has his ball retention.

-I think Mikel has been poor, when he's played his job has been to hold onto leads (City,United) and even when featuring against Shrewsbury I thought Ake looked a more complete player.

But overall, can't complain! Good start to the season, new players have fitted in nicely and I'm confident looking forward!

Remy has been good.

BTW I'm not bashing Hazard. I've said he's had a lot of good games but I think he has so much more in his game. His end product could be a lot better.

considering the state of our strikeforce last season it would have been hard for anyone to be a downgrade

Courtouis' been a bit under-whelming, having said that i would still argue we made the right choice as regards him and Cech

for me Costa has been our best and most important player.

Fractionally below him is Matic and then another fraction below Matic is Fabregas.

Hazard has been brilliant too and for me along with Courtois they have been the stand out players so far.

Others have done well too, but these are the key players for us this season so far.

I think that the same can be said of Fabregas, who even though some years older than Hazard has never been able to develop that part of his game.

Biggish I think Fabregas's end product has been very good for us. Hazard has got into some brilliant positions but messes up with the final ball. His decision making can be a lot better. I still believe he is our best player and whatever we achieve this season will have a huge input from Hazard.

TLLL......have to disagree, the one thibg Fabregas does not have on him is a shot, his goal scoring gas always been thecweak part of his game.

Also agree that Hazard, s finishing has gone backwards this weason. However he has been making huge contributions this season and in the big games especially.

I'm not sure about Fabregas's finishing as he hardly gets into goal scoring positions as he's playing a lot deeper. But I do remember him missing a couple of good chances against Leicester and Shalke.

I've been impressed with his defensive side of the game. We aren't seeing big holes in our midfield compared to the first few games of the season.

The problem I have with Hazard is he isn't greedy in front of goal. I swear if he took players on in the box and shoots more often he'd get a lot more goals. He has a lot of time to improve though.

Costa is obviously the main man of the moment. Our player of the season so far and depending on what we achieve this season he could even have a shot at the ballon dor next year.

Ivanovic has been a tank this year with vital goals aswell.

Fabregas has been dictating games so well. Barcelona must regret letting him go especially when Xavi is in his last season or two. Also his work rate defensively has been completely overlooked, surely this is his best position.
