Team selection unbalanced

While I believe Redders will do the job by the end of season, I believe he got this selection slightly wrong.

When I saw Morison upfront I thought, we've just reduced our chances of winning by about 50%.

First half saw us matching it with Cardiff, it wasn't a edge of your seat half, but we stood toe to toe with them.

While both sides were playing passing football and finding their men, they were both equally guilty of sending some passes astray, astray meaning to the opposition.

Our passing was pretty good, but we tend to pass it across field just a little to much, we should be passing it forward more and inching towards their goal however, having said that it did look slightly better than previous games.

While the team were trying to go for goal, Morison was doing his great impression of a wandering nomad, an excellent impression that he kept up well untill he was subbed in second half.

Warnock is getting old, he hasn't got the legs that he used to have, at times I thought Warnock may have been confused about which way he was playing with the number of back passes he was doing.

Pearce is always going to be a liability with the way he likes to show opposing players how much he likes them. He puts his hands and arms on'em like he's trying to chat'em up or ask for a date, he must be missing a lot of cuddles away from game.

The camera actually zoomed in on Pearce on one ocassion, and by the way he kept moving his arm up and down the players body it looked like he couldn't make his mind up "shall I hug him around his shoulders, or should I give him a nice tight cuddle around his waist".

Pearce is now on a 1 match ban I believe, so Cooper can step in and hopefully stake his claim for Pearces position. Incidently, Pearce has said that Cooper is the man keeping him on his toes; to be honest I thought it was the couple of tall Cardiff strikers he kept trying to hug.

Both teams were exchanging ends during first half as defence turned into attack, I think Cardiff had the slight edge but there was very little in it, both teams went in all square at halftime.

Morison was one of our best players vs Wolves so not starting him would have been wrong.

I won't comment on the rest because it's clear to me just for the above reason that you probably don't see the team play unless they're on TV. You've pretty much based your dislike of Warnock on his age.

I've watched Leeds live and on TV. I'm a Warnock fan but would say he's a yard too short on pace at the moment. That can impact defensively and offensively.

Morison played well for 45 minutes and then lost interest when Milanic starting tinkering. Whether that warranted another start is open to debate,

The problem as I see it is we've had three changes in three months from a head coach perspective, albeit Redfearn was involved in two of them.

No consistency at the helm will have an impact on the side irrespective of the quality at the coaches' disposal.

I'm concerned but dismayed. We've played some good sides recently and for good periods of time we've held our own.

We're making defensive errors again and goals are drying up. Get the first sorted and then work on the second. Confidence will be low so Redfearn has a task on his hands but whilst I still remain sceptical about his ability, he does have a good rapport with the players.

All doom and gloom? No, it's not good but let's not throw the towel in just yet.

Ofcourse it was right to start Morison but not out on his own with Doukara starting also.
Unbalanced team selection is right!

Redders thinks Morison is a target man. No clue!

That wasn't apparent first time around though

------

Morison didn't lose interest, he was moved to the wing.

I was there and my view was that he lost interest, granted he was moved out wide, but he didn't seem as committed.

All about opinions I guess.

He was played on the wing and had the ball consistantly hoofed to him. He knew he wasn't effective like that because in the first half with it at his feet he was quality. Also, after getting a couple of injury time sub appearances, he was started, he was absolutely ****ed by about 60 minutes. Should have been taken off but he was left on.

Hoofed? Must have missed that. I abhorred hoofball and didn't see the 2nd half performance as being anything like the fayre we had under Colin or Brian.

Perhaps I'm blinkered!

He was good in the first half save a couple of moments where he was berating Adryan.

I'd leave him on the bench next time around and bring him on mid 2nd half.

Get rid of Morison and Sharp

I'd put in a cheeky loan bid for Connor Wickham with a view to possibly a long term contract in the summer when he's out of contract. 21 years of age, good striker, not happy at Sunderland. If you don't ask you don't get.

Partner him with Antenucci or Doukara ar simply play three up front with him in the middle. 4 3 3.

Loan first to see how he settles.
