I don't understand his thinking here.
What's the point of a football club who are happy to lose games? Why even watch them if the manager openly admits they rolled over?
Football should always be about trying to win, not merely existing as a business.
Warnock's glad to lose.

Fair comment but methinks Warnock merely implied he is glad loss is over and they can now concentrate on PL.

Any manager who is pleased to have lost a cuptie is seriously insulting the fans who pay good money...Warnock has always been too keen to be a blunt Yorkshireman..its part of the reason he is so charmless...

As a Sheffield United fan I am all too familiar with this ridiculous attitude towards some matches. Warnock is not a winner. Winners care about every match. I understand playing a weakened team to preserve the fitness of key players for the PL, but you should want to win the game! What message does it send out to the players picked if Warnock says he doesn't care? Furthermore it's disrespectful to the opposition. Alex Ferguson may rest players, but he ALWAYS wants to win. Also, winning games in any competition builds up a winning mentality and confidence in the team, something Warnock appears not to appreciate. He took a nonchalant approach to SUFC's penultimate PL game in 2007 against Aston Villa to save ourselves for the final day against Wigan. Villa beat us 3-0 and in the end we went down by one goal scored.

This is the type of thing that makes me really angry. Winning is what people pay to see their team do. They didn't send out an awful team but it was quite clear that they just didn't give a damn. I think QPR last won a trophy in 67 and it was the League Cup! I can't believe that any fan wouldn't be happy to watch their team play in a final at Wembley.
Mind you I really don't like Neil Warnock...
