The lack of competition is a large part of it. When Vermaelen was fit he was breathing down his neck . Look how OX's game has improved over the last two games now that Theo is fit. Wilshere stepped up his game when Ramsey was coming back.

Wenger apparently has not pressure from the board and the result is a lazy complacency on his behalf and sheer incompetence.

Serial probably right, hard for a guy like him to gain any motivation after winning a WC, for a team that he doesnt especially care about and who probably (no offence intended) wont win anything. Especially when he is reaching his twilight years.
