where's your source on that el cap? thats probably still 5 more games than vermaelen.

A dislocated shoulder is one of those injuries that can't really be accounted for.

Repeated muscular injuries, however, are the signs of someone who is injury prone. My perception is that Vermaelen very much falls into that category. Can't be compared to Rojo at all.

Given our defensive injuries even 5 games more is a huge difference!

Vermaelen probably only got injured in the first place because United had expressed an interest. Our defensive curse has grown so powerful that a CB doesn't even need to play for us to get injured any more. He only has to think about the club and he'll be crocked in no time.
