Frustrating as todays result against Villa was, there is one very big positive to be taken from the game.
Villa came to the Boleyn & played for a draw, in seasons past a game against West Ham would have been seen as an invitation to pick up three points, but not any more.
Villa parked the bus and did everything both in & outside the rules of the game to time waste & break up play.
So sure, it may be two points dropped, but it also clearly shows how this team is now viewed from the outside. West Ham and Big Sam are going to have to learn how to play against this kind of negative football, especially at home. West Ham are a strong team right now with great attacking flair. It just may take a little time to get used to playing against teams happy to go away with a point when up against them.
How far West Ham have come.

I think everyone at WHU should be congratulated, Allardyce could have easily thrown his toys out of the pram when the owners started talking about playing more attractive football and appointed Sheringham as attacking coach.
I always think the job of a football manager is to do just that, manage. Manage the players, the owners, the fans and most importantly, manage the situation that you're in and Big Sam has done that brilliantly IMO.

I think Villa have done their homework and well executed their plan. They knew, without their prolific striker, Benteke, they can't win this game. So, they put pacy Gabby upfront and another player in the midfield to track our players runs. Having said that, we have had our chances to win the game, esp. Jenkison header.
No one predicted this team would beat Liverpool and City and run for the money at the Old Trafford. I believe this team overachieved in every aspect, i.e, scoring, creating and playing well on the floor.

We must beat Everton to cement our place in the top half of the table. I'm sick of losing to Neverton year after year..
