Some interesting comments from Pochettino in an interview in El Pais (in Spanish).
http://deportes.elpais.com/deportes/2014/11/09/actualidad/1415552833_627227.html
He believes that English clubs tend to undervalue English footballers and that one of primary reasons for his success at Southampton was that he showed faith in English talent. “The English player has the same ability to learn as any other."
On getting his players onside. “Respect is the hardest thing to earn. But I think we have it, because players know that they will improve with us."
He likes the respect afforded to the professionals by young players in England - for example, how they are made to clean the boots of the first-team players. “In Spain, for example, try telling a 17-year-old boy to do that. He would say: ‘Me? I’m a professional, I have sponsors and an agent.’"
He usually forgoes a post-match drink with his opposite number. “I’m not very friendly after matches. Even after winning."
His challenge at Spurs: “To instil our philosophy and promote young players. We have the best training facility in Europe and must take advantage of it."

Good Luck Poch...sorry but thats carp.
Cleaning boots ended decades ago...
He benches Lennon, Townsend...
Rose and Naughton have been probably been one of our worst performers of the last fear or so.
Velkjovic is NOT worse than Chiriches but gets loaned out.
We have not signed a single English player under his tenure.

When was Dier brought in?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You raise a fair point although Dier never played in the English system....But is that Baldini's credit or Poch. I understood that deal was done before Poch arrived.

So is he implying that Mason and Kane were secret world-beaters? So secret that nobody else at the club knew of their greatness? Didn't think so.
