So with the news that Pique and Luis Enrique are not the best of friends would you be happy to see him make a return?
We have a decent amount of Spanish players already at the club (especially if Valdes signs) and given hes already played for us surely he would pick us over the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.
I personally would welcome him with open arms, yes hes been poor (by his standards) for the last 18 months or so but hes still only 27, hes in his prime, hes a winner and he has the experience that our defence desperately lacks. Only problem is he is not the leader most of us have been crying out for, his best years have been when hes played along side a leader like Puyol.
So what do you think? How much do you think he'd cost given his contract doesn't expire til 2019?

I have never rated Pique that high, I don't think he's any better than what we have (when fit)

It isn't all about being "better" though is it?
We know in the right system, Pique can be very effective, we've all seen him when Barca were in their peak and he was very good.
Now as a team we really lack the ability to pass out from the back, McNair has been our best cb on the ball imo and is the only one willing to run into the space with the ball. I believe LVG wants his defence to be able to play the ball out, Pique would help that.
It's also worth noting Pique doesn't appear to have got on with the management staff, he's won everything there is to win at Barca so he does probably need a fresh scene.
I'm not saying he is a world class defender, but he has attributes we lack and we all know what a difference the right manager can make to a player.

You were actually watching Benfica's league games? I saw him in Europe and he always impressed me, and in the WC.

I used to think he was a clumsy so and so, but having kept a closer eye during the 12/18 months we were linked, he looked very solid.

Out of interest does anyone think Rojo could become a commanding leader at the back once his English has improved? He can be quite physically imposing and have seen him be quite vocal.
Just a thought

I do, but it feels like we have signed a 19/20 year old cb atm, not a 24 year old.
In fairness he isn't naturally a centre half.

ive been quite impressed with Rojo to be fair.
once his English improves and he has better communication then i think he'll be a very good CB for us.
its not all about skill and grace on the ball, he's the type of player who'll lift the crowd and in turn lift the game.
thats an important part of a performance which is massively underated

In what way? CB has been his position most of his professional career.

Every time I have seen him he has played left back, in that way
He only played centre half last season for Sporting I believe?
