Well stating the obvious but the need for a centre back is crucial. Wenger's gamble didnt pay off and its pretty much ended our season already. It just annoys me as to why the man just doesnt address the fkn problems. Jose got all his players in 2 months before the season. I wish Wenger had the intelligence to do so.
Now what choices are there? Hummels? Reid? Vlaar? Van Djik? I really cant see Wenger splashing out on Hummels so the logical answer would be the latter trio.
CDM has been a position we've failed to address for 7 years. An absolute joke. Arteta has done well and atleast has a presence in the game. His quick distribution helps our style. I also have noticed that Flamini tends to get up the pitch more than Arteta? Is that me or has anyone else spotted it?
Now, what are our options.. Carvalho? Khedira? Schneiderlin? Cabaye? Cant see any of them coming tbh. Think Wengers gonna let Arteta be first choice till the end of the season. Khedira's been in the papers and apparently has agreed to join Arsenal in Jan for a cut fee 8m..
Furthermore, Jenkinson has played very well for West Ham.. I'd recall him from his loan just incase Debuchy has injury niggles throughout the season. Think he offers much more than Chambers who i see as a CB.

Don't do anything in Jan. More than likely no top class players will be available and we'll end up signing shít players.
Whether we sign somebody or not we'll finish top 4 which is all the club really cares about so what's the point in wasting money on the wrong players.

According to a story quoted on the BBC gossip page Wenger will be given £20m to buy reinforcements in January. I wonder if it was meant to be a joke

Yea they said it at the AGM a few weeks ago I think. Obviously you can add to that budget when we flog off Podolski and Joel.

Could probably get khedira and a good CB for 20m, just. . Khedira for say 8m as you said, leaves you 12m probably can get a good CB for that, enough to cover us til summer. But podolski might be sold, but I reckon itd be a loan with view to buy.
Having said that, do you think wenger would cough up money for khedira when he can get him free in 6 months?
