Here are some quotes by Hoddle about Spurs fans.
The fans are one of the best sets of supporters in the country and well within their rights to demand the best from the players who represent them.
They’re fantastic supporters [at Tottenham]. They always have been but the one thing they are is very demanding. Most crowds are but they are particularly demanding.
I remember it as a kid coming into the team at 17 but in the end you set a standard for yourself and if you didn’t reach that standard they would soon let you know.
You have to be a strong character. You have to be brave on the ball to play at Tottenham in front of those fans. If you show that character and that ability they will be behind you forever.

lamela is brave on the ball i think.

I agree he does try things but we will see if he has strong character. Now is the time for all of them to show character and not look for excuses for poor performances.

Agree, Lamela is a better no.10 than Eriksen at the moment. Lamela turns to face the opposition and runs with his head up looking for whats around him. I see his potential. Eriksen is fast becoming a bit of a coward. he needs to man up. take on players. in the opposition third. He has the skill.

I'm a huge lamela fan as everyone knows on here and I can admit completely that he has not lived up to his ability and what I saw at Roma just yet but one thing he does have is heart and desire. He might be picking out bad passes and giving the ball away cheaply at times but you can't knock the kids desire. He never hides away from a challenge or a tackle despite needing to bulk up a bit. Still have a lot of high hopes for Lamela and he hasen't showed us the real lamela yet but only glimpses.

Hoddle is a true legend, and he is perfectly right, even back when I started supporting Spurs back in the 1950s, the crowd let them have it, if they were not performing, but boy did they get behind them if they were. Spurs supporters are right up there with the best, and trust me they would not be booing if it was not warranted. The players need to man up, and stop acting like a bunch of wimps.

Hoddle is my favourite Spurs legend and I love the way he talks about the club.
I personally like the fact our fans are so demanding. Look at the biggest clubs in the world - Real Madrid are on the players backs as soon as they feel the standard isn't high enough. The best clubs demand the best Football.
One of the most frustrating things is that we're not only losing, but losing paying boring Football. At least under Hoddle, Jol etc we were entertained no matter what the score.

That could be the problem. How many of our players have strong character and are brave on the ball?
At the moment I cannot think of any.

Mason.

So far we have come up with Lamela and Mason. Perhaps we could add Lloris but still 3 players we think have strong character and are brave on the ball is a pretty poor show.

Mason, Kane.. Lamela certainly isn't scared of the ball.
