I was discussing our best results from last season on another thread, and came up with Stoke 3-0, Newcastle 4-0 and Sunderland 5-1.
I thought I'd look up the teams we put out for those games, as we largely have the same pool of players to pick from now.
Looking at the results, I also picked out 3-1 at Swansea and 2-1 at United.

We beat Fergie's United with Friedel in goal.
We beat Inter with Crouch up front.
We got beat by QPR with Modric, Bale and Lennon on the pitch.
Terrible article.

Little useless Lennon started them all.
Like he did in the majority of our exciting teams or games

If Lennon starts on the right I'd bet money we'd see results improve.
I'm sure there would be another reason in your eyes though.

Lennon scored 1 bloody goal all of last season, and he's the answer? He's just not effective anymore.

Yet he is consistently involved in sides that score goals.
Crazy eh? Anyone would think football teams have 11 players who contribute in different ways

Charlie Adam and Downing had amazing stats, what a shame we never signed them and Liverpool benefitted

Lennon was poor when he played last season, we all thought it. Even in the 4-4-2's he played under Sherwood, he was often anonymous. The days of him using his pace and attacking the byline seem to have gone.
Say what you want about statistics, for someone who plays in a forward position to contribute so few goals and assists, it's not been good enough, and there's a reason Poch doesn't use him much.

I don't think you can look at performances and results under Poch and use it as a gauge for faults in players he leaves out
You do know with the current set up we've been averaging under 3 shots a game at home?
And lost four of six.
If you want to look at stats, they are pretty damming.
People are always saying how narrow we are, how predictable and how everything goes through the middle. Yet Lennon isn't even given a thought.
He doesn't even have to create chances or score goals., just his presence on the right would stop teams being able to play so narrow as they know He can cause damage, and free up a bit of space for our goalscoring midfielders and strikers to actually score goals, or at the very least have a few shots.
Could it possibly be any worse than it is?
