With Sturridge out until the new year, Balotelli, Borini, Lambert not socring goals I think we should give Sterling a chance upfront, Not as a lone striker but with one of the other three. He could run in behind which is something that has been really missed this season.
I'd be happy with Balotelli and Sterling as a front two and bring in Lallana or Can to cover the midfield postion left by him, It may also give Markovic a chance in his preffered postion.
I really think a runner in behind will help Balotelli's game as he needs the focus taken off him and will then be able to drop a bit deeper and get more space as sterling with be taking up one or even two defenders.
What do you guys think?
Raheem Striker?

Lambert and Borini up top I hope. If we can find a place in the team for them now they are never going to feature.

Been suggesting the same thing for most of the season OP. However doubt BR will be brave enough to go for it though. He didn't even play 2 up top v.s Hull city at home.

Obviously not seen as much of him as you guys but every time I have seen him he doesn't strike me particularly clinical in front of goal plus of you take him away from supplying goals then that is going to do more harm than good

He is not a striker

I can see the logic behind it.
He has that pace to stretch the play and make space for others.
The trouble with that is that is one of our best players, so really you want him exploiting the space rather than selflessly creating it.
He doesn't have the rest of the game required to both make space for others and score goals himself like Suarez and Sturridge did, so it would be a bit of a waste of his ability.
That said, it's certainly a debate that it could benefit the team.

it could work in a 2
as the main, lone striker I'd say it wouldn't work
but, I can't see anything working less that what we've done to date this season

My thinking behind it is, yes hes not a striker and it may take something away from the midfiled but we do have better cover in that area where as upfront we look toothless.
Hes not the best finsher but over tha last season he has proved he can put the ball in the net, I think we have nothing to lose and with his pace it will cause more problems running bthrough the middle than from wide. Balotelli will benefit from some pacey support up front.

As it stands Balotelli, Borini and Lambert haven't got a league goal between them. Losing his 'supply' is hardly going to be a worry if we aren't scoring anyway.
I think shaking it up and playing him up top with Borini, with Coutinho just behind would be worth a shot.

We have to try something, There need to be a plan in place now that Sturridge is out, Move on from that stop moaning aout losing 80% of the goals from last season and look to a solution.
Raheem may be the answer, Maybe not scoring the goals but him upfront will bring something missing all season-Pace.
