Your thoughts on Nile Ranger

Hiya

Seems we are close to signing Nile Ranger from you for £750K, what are your thoughts on him as far as playing ability, what are his Strengths and Short Commings.

I know he only gets used off the bench and from what i saw in a few times for Newcastle was he seems a lot like our Cameron Jerome.

Thats a player with pace and strength who lacks awareness and composure/finishing.

Then again from what i saw Ranger has a ok first touch, and can run with the ball to feet, these are two things that let Jerome down. But a Striker is judged on his goals and Rangers is not a high tally but he was good for England U-19 level.

Jeromes goals was poor last season but then he was played on his own with no support or service with negative 4,5,1 tactics and showed the season before when paired with Chucho Benitez in a 4,4,2 that he can get goals.

To me looks like a like for like replacement for Jerome who could be Bolton bound for £4M
