It sounds daft, but the injuries to Key Players could be a blessing in disguise.
There was chat of Izzy Kayal and Hooper being sold to EPL clubs (Liverpool, Bolton and Newcastle respectivley).
Now putting aside the fact that what happened to Izzy is terrible, it stopped him being sold.
Kayal hasn't been playing for a few weeks and we have been missing that spark in midfield.
Hooper is out the team and we haven't scored since. This surely gives proof (if it was needed) to the board that we can't and shouldn't sell key players, even if we are getting millions for them.
Injuries have also highlighted the need for better squad players. The deadwood is still no where to be seen in terms of contesting for a place when there have been spaces in every role opened on the park (striker midfield cb and fb). Get rid, get the wages down and get a couple good quality players in. A big old fashioned no 9 bully and a decent CB to pair with KW and use DM as cover.
Get it sorted Lawell
Arrghgghh
Rant over!

I can see Lenny arranging 'traps' for any player mooted for a move.
And another one fell down the stairs.

There was not much interest in terms of bids for them. But I am also glad, I could have seen the board accepting the most derisory of offers for the likes of Kayal, yet rejecting offers for fringe players.

Don't think we had bids in for any of those players listed.
I'd always rather have them playing, even if people put bids in.
Cause we're a fairly poor team with Kayal, Hooper and Izzy that's for sure!
Don't think we'll buy anyone else before we sell. Which will lose us the league. You can't go through a season with 3 strikers (Hooper, Stokes and Murphy) I don't class Samaras as a striker, cause he isn't.

didn't bolton bid £2m then £3m for kayal?

Attacking midfielder.
You talk about us getting rid of what you term "deadwood"
Surely no one would want to buy deadwood or even take them out on loan.
Players who are not capable of making the Celtic first team match squad are not usually very valuable. It takes a lot of persuasion to get another club to take on one of these players.

I don't think many Hoops fans thought that we were good enough to have our three best players injured along with a few squad players out too and still perform at our best.
We may listen to offers for players as all clubs do but the board are surely not stupid enough to sell the like of Izzy or kayal for £3 million.

Pontius I think you can take it for sure, Lawell and the board will not sell any of our better players for small money. Lawell has struck pretty decent deals for Celtic involving all players coming in and those going out.
