Vertonghen's Reaction

Am I just being biased here, or are the rest of you confused as to why all the pundits are having a go at JV for his reaction. I know it wasn't much of a kick by Ramirez, but he's got his right leg at Vert's ankle and kicks him in the back of the knee with his left, and he just trips up. If he had over-reacted, he would have gone down and rolled around, faking injury. But he merely looked at Ramirez as if to say "what did you do that for?".

Anyway glad we got the 3 points, if only we could play 10 men every week we'd be a decent team. Not looking forward to the next couple of games but COYS!

Philspurs - Vertonghen-cheek

I just don't see it, I didn't see Vertonghen go to ground as the result of a kick, I saw his feet get tangled and tripped?

You saw it exactly as I, and a lot of others saw it. It probably was not a red, but no way did Verts theatrically go to ground. He was kicked, end of.

I think that Ramirez knew exactly what he was doing, and whilst it wasn't a particularly violent act he was in my opinion trying to get a reaction from Verthongen that might have resulted in Verts being sent off.

Bruce's reaction was typical, it was a stupid action by his player & he glosses over it by claining Verts over egged the pudding, rolling around as if he was pole axed.

Verthongen did not do that, he was on his feet quickly shrugging his shoulders at Ramirez and his petulant behaviour!

It was a red card offence and Vertonghen was simply kicked and tripped up, I saw no over reaction, rolling around or holding his face on his part.

The pundits were just disappointed that Spurs won 3 points, the majority are desperate for Spurs to fail after Levy sacked their uncle Harry and so will nit pick wherever they can.

Hull were lucky to not have Livermore red carded also for a shocking tackle.

Ramirez got what he deserved, in the first half he was rolling around feigning injury when Spurs were on the attack, forcing us to kick the ball out of play. Miraculously, Ramirez was back on his feet just 10 seconds later.
