So like many i enjoy watching the odd nostalgia video on YouTube regarding chelsea or even videos of current players
One guy in particular @feroze17 who was responsible for the quite frankly excellent "against all odds" which chronicled the entire CL winning campaign has been told he cannot make chelsea FC videos anymore due to copywrite issues. He received a letter from the club stating he should cease editing chelsea related content
So what do we think?
Have you watched one of his videos ?
Do you think it's mean spirited
Are chelsea FC protecting their image?
Do you give a flying Feck? ( feel free to 1 star if this is the case )
Answers on a postcard please
Political news everyone

These guys with far too much time on their hands do a great job, i've sat down and reminisced about some great times whilst pizzed out my head.
More power too them I say.
Legally though, all the image rights of what they broadcast don't belong to them and if they're good they'll get advert dough so they'll be earning off of someone elses product...

I've watched some of Feroze's videos. Bar the odd spelling mistake they're well put together. And unlike most youtube videos, the music fits his videos as well.
He might be able to claim he's using it under fair usage rules but he'd need to be able to reasonably demonstrate it's for review purposes.
Either way, if true it's petty on Chelsea's part.

Yeah this is a pretty poor response by Chelsea. Feroze is a supporter of the club, making videos to celebrate the club.
Maybe other parties are pressuring Chelsea to remove it?

Editing's been a hobby of mine for over 7 years now. Feroze is extremely overrated in terms of the technical quality of his editing. Dreadful colour saturations, terrible overuse of effects which add nothing to his projects. You'd think he'd have improved down the years (and he has slightly to be fair), but he's still very amateurish. If he took his work to any post-production studio they'd laugh in his face.
One day I'll do a Chelsea related video I'm proud of, post it here and you'll see the difference

Ok, talking from personal experience I think it is very harsh. He is making people aware about the club and I guess more people become interested in Chelsea. I am not being funny but half the stuff on Chelsea tv is poor and it is nice to have a fans perspective.
I made a video about the semi-final at Barcelona in 2012 and used audio from a nike advert. Nike approved for me to use the audio after seeing the advert. People keep asking where's the audio is from. I tell them and they probably go watch nike adverts that make nike money. I can't see why Chelsea are being hard to Feroze17. Anyways I am now using this for self promotion.

I'm often impressed by the skills some bedroom video editors, photo shoppers or whatevers have. One thing I would say about those football montages is the people who make them all seem to have the exact same fecking terrible taste in music.
