Bolton Wanderers 1 Huddersfield Town 0

Hello all and a very warm welcome to this match thread.

Venue ; Macron stadium

Kick off ;15:00

Gate: 15,924
Town: 1,962

Referee; Surrey referee Carl Berry will be in charge when Huddersfield Town visit Bolton Wanderers for a Championship clash on Saturday.

He has taken 15 matches so far this season – issuing 58 yellow cards and five reds.

Brief history : Bolton Wanderers are one of the 12 founder members of the Football League in 1888 and winners of the first Wembley FA Cup Final in 1923. The Whites have been a proud part of the history of the game.

Town travel "ova tops" to Bolton. Bolton currently sat in 21st place on 18 points. They've picked up some good results recently since Neil lennon has been in charge.

Their stats so far are: played 18 won 5 drawn 3 and lost 10 with a goal difference of - 7 with 18 points. Pretty poor really, but they've had some trouble on and off the field. Good news for town is that Jermaine Beckford has been loaned out to Preston both ends. So he won't be scoring against us.

Head to head: We've met 44 times @ Bolton (in the league) with Bolton winning the lions share of 26 times,to towns 8 with 10 draws.

Weird facts about Bolton:

Bolton has one of the top mountain rescue teams in the country - despite not having any mountains.

The ice cream wafer sandwich was invented in Bolton.

Global sports company Reebok began life in a cobblers store in Deane. Joe Foster first hit on the idea of driving nails through shoes -- the forerunners of modern day spikes - in 1895.

And finally ; Most disposable bedpans in the world are made in Bolton by Vernacare.

Any road, back to Town now.

We are going into this game on a mini slump, having only gained one point from a possible nine. The international break cocked us up in my opinion, oh and playing two former premier league teams. Imo we deserved the point against Sheffield weds, however, they should have had a penalty.

Town currently sit in 14th place on 21 points with 5 victories, 6 draws and 7 defeats, with - 6 goal difference. So not much difference really. We're both on our second managers of the season, with some Town fans wishing we'd have installed Neil lennon as our boss.

This league is very tight this season. No run away teams and lots of congestion in the middle and bottom of the table. My prediction is a narrow 1-2 victory for town.

Safe journey to all those making the short trip.

Just back, not a good game and though Bolton weren't brilliant they probably deserved the win. Mind you we had a few chances and really should have put a couple away. Worryingly, Scannell hobbled off near the end, I'm no expert but agreed with everyone around me that it was his hamstring.

Been a bad away day, roadworks, traffic jams, missing most of the first half because a small group blocked everyone's view and wouldn't sit down. I would have been more than happy to stand but there was a very pregnant woman behind who wouldn't have managed to stand for long, plus others with kids. We eventually found seats at the other end of the ground and I actually saw the second half. Worse luck.

I'm really not against standing as long as everyone around us of the same mind but when you get inconsiderate idiots who have no regard for anyone else it's wrong. Rant over for now.

Edit; Powell says Scannell has a dead leg.

According to Powell Scanz has a dead leg

we seemed to have the best chances in the game...but we looked quite ragged at the end, like we'd lost hope and run out of ideas....mind you , CP is still building the squad so job not done yet...what happened to lynch ?

No idea what happened to lynch to be honest. I know Powell says Scanz has a dead leg but he needed two people to support him round the pitch. Is this usual with a dead leg?

bad news about Bunn...out for several weeks ..Scanz injured, Lynch done his groin....We seem to get more injuries when we're losing than when we're doing ok...or is that just my imagination ?
