Not that bothered about Toney as I'd never heard of him until a few days ago.
What does pizs me off is that we don't seem to want to challenge relatively modest clubs like Bournemouth, Wigan and Brighton for "better" players.

With you Cyp, couldn't give a shít about missing out on Toney.
Not sure we don't challenge other clubs to be honest, we have just brought in Graham who many clubs would have taken, and it appears we offer enough in transfer fees, the problem appears to be a tight wage structure.
Seen many people question why we didn't take Bent, but that wasn't going to happen, we took Graham and he won't have been cheap and for me is the better option of the two at this stage anyway.

If you take time to think, you'll realise the club will have made the right decision.
Firstly, ask yourself if we can afford Toney's wages... the answer is yes.
We have given a Northampton a record fee for his potential. What we give for wages depends on proven ability - of which Toney has none whatsever.
Given the bomb squad era we now have to give players the message that high wages are warranted through high abilty or success.
This boy obviously wants the earth for having earned 24 caps and a decent overhead kick goal against a poor League 2 defence.
I hope we told his agent to swivel.

It was Northampton that wanted more money, not the player

Whatever anyone thinks of the players concerned the fact is this is at least the 6th striker in the last 6 months that Jackett wanted to bring to Wolves and the deals haven't been done. People are quick to praise Moxey for looking after the pennies and getting some bargains. I hope when people assess the job he does I hope they don't forget the huge number of transfer deals he has failed to seal due to wanting to get players on the cheap
