'...even the most pessimistic Arsenal fan would have to be having a really bad day to expect defeat at The Hawthorns. It's just one of those places where Arsenal almost always seem to prosper - losing just one of their last 21 visits.'

SUBSTITUTION

Attacking substitution for Albion - and boy do they need it. Nigeria striker Victor Anichebe replaces defensive midfielder Youssouf Berahino as Baggies boss Alan Irvine goes on the offensive.

This is absolutely pathetic. If this is the best Irvine can do with what is after all a fully fit and talented group of footballers, then he can just go. We have no attacking threat at all really.

Yet another game affected by a poor decision. Berahino was onside when clean through and the linesman got the decision wrong.
I know the knives are out for AI now but all in all this was not a bad defensive performance. Trouble is it is all about defending these days. I can't see the point in calling for his head today but a defeat on Tuesday would be different.
I am getting increasingly fed up of seeing the same guys failing when Ideye, Blanco and Varela don't get a look in.

In our defence. Berahino wasn't even close to being offside, also unlucky to hit the bar with his header.

Nobody stood out as being poor today apart from AI who set the team up to defend again. In the last 15 mins we looked pretty good....

Saw the game on TV.
Albion were very good in the last 15 minutes.
They should attack more often!!

Especially in a home game, Midland 20.
Are we playing deep, hoping to break on the counter?
If we do this against teams like Arsenal, it effectively turns it into a home game for them, and we will lose.
Does Al need to grow a pair with his squad and trust it, or change the squad?
