Unfortunately I do not have the subscription to view Tomkins Times articles in full. However, once in a while comes a free gem of an article.
This article is by Mihail Vladimirov. It details the tactical analysis of the recent CL game we had against Ludogorets.

It shows where Rodgers could have got more out of his squad during the course of the match.

This is a summary which is included in the top of the linked article:
SUMMARY:
Ludogorets opted for their usual 4-2-3-1 formation, Liverpool started with a surprisingly defensive 4-4-1-1, with Gerrard moved forward to support Lambert.
Because of the shape and personnel, the potential for tactical changes were rigid and limited.
Marcelino was the playmaker in the home team’s side, looking to pick out the three attacking wingers ahead of him.
Allen and Lucas were effective when Liverpool had the ball, but caused problems for the defence by not splitting their roles (off-the-ball) effectively. They both tried to press and attack the man in possession, rather than take it in turns or simply allow Lucas to sit deep, and Allen to press the player with the ball.
The Reds started well, in terms of solid, patient periods of possession.
Both opening goals were mainly down to individual lapses, although Ludogorets’ opener might have been prevented had Lucas not committed and left the space in front of the back four.
The home team created plenty of chances throughout the match, but their individual quality let them down.
In the second half, especially in the last 20 minutes of the game, Ludogorets attacked with their whole team (apart from the centre-backs), and although they were restricted in open play, Rodgers’ lack of in-game management meant the Reds had no outlet to attack. So remained under pressure throughout.

Ludogorets Revisited - TT analysis

I have seen a lot of WUM's on our board writing that Brendan is fraudster and all at sea when things are going wrong. The article above doesn't do much to disprove that notion.
I get the fact it's a learning curve the trouble is by the time he get's to the end of that curve Brendan may find himself out of a job.

It's just one persons opinion.
Who is to say this guy writing the article is a tactical whizz?

I see where you are coming from on this Righteous.....Lies, Damned Lies and Statistics ............
The thing with stats is that you can present the stats which back up your hypotheses. You don't show the stats which do not agree with your hypothesis.
The guy Vladimir I don't know of too well in terms of his football knowledge.
I've read his analyses and they make a lot of sense to a lay person like me, anyway.
I really want BR to turn this season around. But a common theme in the analyses of this seasons games has been the lack of pragmatism by BR to change things during the game as opposed to how flexible he was in previous 2 seasons. Maybe he doesn't have the players available to effect these changes atm.

Yes ARE, I do hope he's given enough time to turn it around. Let's hope he learns very quickly.
Once the Basel game is out of the way, we have a long break as far as European Football (whichever competition we're in or not), allowing BR sufficient time between games to get things right.

Maybe he just doesn't want to blind the players with science too much.
The games are coming thick and fast, and we have lots of new players.
He is a coach who wants to work with players over time to improve them and the system. Obviously he is currently struggling to do that, so maybe he doesn't want to further complicate things with many in game changes.
I am just playing devils advocate here, I am not saying I think BR is getting everything right as he clearly isn't, but its easy to pick holes in things after the event.
If we mark properly at a corner, we win the game, and I doubt anyone would be making any articles criticising tactics.
Analysis is totally dependent on results. Win games and people write articles about all the things you are doing well. Lose and its all the things you are doing wrong.
Ultimately the players are more responsible for results than the manager is.

Well obviously, people want to understand why they won or lost. Explaining why they might have won or lost could take forever and be extremely boring.
