Welcome to the opening of Aqua Sulis F.C, Bath's latest, and biggest, addition to a wonderful sporting heritage. Please take time to enjoy our team selection, and our location pitch.
Name -
We have chosen to name ourselves Aqua Sulis F.C. It is a name that conjures up the idea of history and heritage, a deft nod to the past of Bath and the traditions that come with being part of the local fabric.
It is also an unusual name, which makes it memorable, and as such, marketable. In this sense, it runs in a similar vein to other teams such as Chunhum Dragons and Pohang Steelers, whose names are instantly enlivening and add a sense of fun that we will be cultivating in our bid to drive the popularity of Aqua Sulis F.C into the stratosphere.
Team -
--------------------Gordon--------------
Hutton----Dawson--Terry--Taylor
------------------S. Brown---------------
-------------Britton-----Lampard------
---Dyer--------------------------Routledge
--------------------C Austin---------------
Manager - Heynckes
Philosophy - We need to be playing fast, attacking football. It needs to be eye catching as well as successful. The team is built on a solid defence, which has both age and wisdom at its centre. Beyond the defence is an array of talent, all of whom enjoy playing the attractive football that Aqua Sulis F.C set out to emulate every match.
Heading the team is Jupp Heynckes as manager, with Heynckes, we should see a similar brand of football that saw Bayern become many fans' second team. This development of a secondary fan base is essential to the business programme of Aqua Sulis F.C, we need to be bringing in a healthy number of tourists, so attractive attacking football is absolutely essential.
As the team's business plan is based on garnering interest from outside of Bath (as well as creating a strong core of local fans), the team selection has chosen to include some 'big names' like Lampard and Terry. These two Goliath's of world football not only give us experience, ability and leadership on the pitch, but also offer us a direct inlet into the world of commercialised football. So whilst the football side of things comes first, it is important to note that some of the team selected, and the tactical philosophy, have been chosen with a marketable element in mind.
Location Pitch -
Our location manager has decided to base our franchise in Bath for seven reasons as laid out below:
1) Bath is a major tourist area, very popular and an area of great historical significance. As the fan base will be supplemented by a significant quantity of tourists coming to see their favourite 'other' team, having the already existent draw of Bath's beautiful heritage can only aid our plan. It should also be noted that Bath itself is not a small town, so it should be relatively easy to develop a core of local fans, meaning we are not solely reliant on one off visits from fans from here there and everywhere.
2) The local infrastructure is more than capable of taking in another large scale sports group. Police forces in and around Bath are used to dealing with large sporting events as there is a big rugby team in the direct vicinity.
3) There are no "big" team in the South West, meaning those locals have little or no choice as far as football goes. They are already a sporty lot, with local rugby clubs getting large attendances regularly, a spot of football should go down a treat for the South West region.
4) Not only do we have a monopoly on the South East, Bath is in easy access to both London (under 100 miles) and Cardiff (just over 50 miles). Having these major population hubs within reach of our pull is essential to a) large home crowds, and b) large away ticket sales, with opposition fans being tempted to come to a relatively close away match, meaning more sales of tickets, and in-ground resources like food and drinks.
5) Bath is also a major university town, bringing in thousands of students who are crying out for a local, affordable, second team to support now they have been deposited outside of their local comfort zone. Cut price tickets for students will help establish a young, intelligent fan base who can help spread the word of Aqua Sulis F.C when they return home.
6) Being in a major food region, we can import proper Cornish pasties from a little way down the road. The local food, made from local goods, idea ties in fantastically to the tourist-led theme we're espousing here today.
7) Planning permission will be fairly cheap in the area. It's not the most overdeveloped, there are plenty of sites to house our ground, and with much of the ground work having already been laid by the rugby clubs close by, we should be able to use the precedents to secure our stay in Bath is long and prosperous.
8) And finally, think of all the Bath headlines you can come up with in the press! Yet another way that we can get Aqua Sulis F.C into the headlines, and bringing in more and more fans to our cause!
Extras -
Kit - With tourism, and sales of Aqua Sulis F.C products so integral to our business model, we felt it was important to bring a finished product to this meeting to show you the quality of the dream we're selling today.

We see this kit less as a football jersey, and more as casual wear for a night out. A beautiful combination of colours means that no one would be ashamed to be seen outside in our team's memorabilia, enhancing yet again the tourist-commercial idea that underpins what we're presenting for our football club.
However, not only is this a lovely, neutral kit for the casual fan, it is also representative of Bath itself, meaning our local fan base can wear it with pride, knowing that they're 'showing the colours' for their home town. the gold represents the fact that most building in Bath are made from local, golden-coloured Stone. It's a potentially unusual reason for a primary shirt colour - but it's connecting with the heritage of the city.
Ladies and Gentlemen, thank you for listening to our pitch today, we hope we satisfied your every wish for the latest Premier League football team. However, we are willing, capable, and ready, to answer any and every question you may have. Thank you very much.
