These two subs made the difference.
Fair play to giroud, he has looked pretty lively this season.
Think it's time to drop welbeck
I know wenger doesn't like pod but you have to give him game time.
Pod and Giroud!

Is it due to coming on in games where we are dominating possession but not doing anything?

I'd say that applies to Podolski more tbh.
Giroud always tries to get on the ball, never hides.

Giroud looks a completely different player from the carthorse we've seen over his first two seasons.
Is it due to coming on in games where we are dominating possession but not doing anything? Or has his injury somehow improved his ability?
Welbeck simply cannot play through the middle at the moment. Should of had at least a brace.

A bit of fire in his belly.
A bit of competition for his place.
Freshness.
Not shàgging the night before.
Tiredness of the opposition.
Us going all out for a goal.
Lots of reasons, tbf.
Remember his performance v Reading in that 7-5?
Hopefully he can start doing it over 90 minutes, and against the best.

Yes, that will be the test. It's one thing looking good off the bench against tired sides with 10 men, it's another delivering top performances against the top sides.

I agree, Tu. which is the only reason I'd be hesitant about starting Poldi on Saturday.

Yeah definitely. He's great for those situations, though.

Ramsey was dogsh'it. Wtf is going with this guy? He's playing like an absolute clown.

I've been saying since last season that Giroud is a great squad striker.
He's had a really raw deal from Wenger, he had to suffer constant criticism from the fans for being our only striker and suffering from fatigue as a result. That was Wenger's fault. Hopefully people can see what he offers now.
Podolski just never convinces me, Lex. Has a really sweet left foot, but seems to only be effective in that space between the opposition RB and CB. And the odd cross.

He's so bad at the minute.
Firstly he's lost his workhorse ethic which his whole game was built on, and secondly nothing seems to come off for him.
I remember him in some games last season literally every flick, trick or shot he tried came off for him, and now it's the opposite.
Hopefully it's just a bad run of form, but if not maybe we just went over the top when he was playing so well for 6 months or so

Things were pretty good when having Poldi-Giroud-Theo as our front 3 2 seasons ago.
Then somehow someone though Poldi was the weak link (not like we conceded more on our left side) and looked for better balance, Poldi started sitting on the bench and Cazorla our #10 played on the left.
We used to have a very effective front 3 but now scoring a lot less.
